The guitar! Hold it in your pic! Seriously, I'm a snowboarder and the quality of women that responded to my profile increased from HB 6-7 to HB 7-8 and a few 9's when I put up a pic holding my snowboard! I was browsing doulike, looking at guys that got high ratings. The highest rated guy was good-looking and all, but not the best. He just posted a pic of him holding his guitar and chicks went ape sh17 over it..... worth a try bro. |

tekryder lol, I must admit I've a salesy side. But I'm actually an IT programmer, I put business owner there so it DHV me more since I do run a business part-time. Not sure how that part would play out when I get asked what I do. dlightmen, are you serious about the holding the guitar? I thought that may came across too pretentious so I just drop hints of a good life with me if she comes into my world. It is like women hate pictures of guys with their shirts off. I'm just afraid I come across as trying too hard holding the guitar! |

Yep, totally... Look through doulike, you'll see the guy. He was in six-figures of yes votes. It worked for me too.Your a programmer? Cool, I'm a Network Engineer. Engineer and Developer are both DHV if you've got a good avatar, I've found. |

Can you elaborate? Which avatar works where?

Can you elaborate? Which avatar works where? When you say, "I'm a developer", typically it is nerdy. However, if you look "cool" and " get it", chicks really dig the whole brainy thing. I mean look sharp, but be a brainy type guy professionally. |

You're right eh. So do you reckon I replace "Business owner" profession with "IT consultant" or which profession do you recommend? I thought Business Owner was good even though it is a part-time venture... |

Have you ever developed a game of any kind, even a "Hello world" type card game? If so you're a Video Game Developer and consultant. |

Cool mate, I'll try it out. But that sort of stretched the truth a bit lol, I'm a Web developer and I wouldn't want a girl to find out later that I'm not a Video game developer. But I do notice there isn't such "stigma" attached to IT guys these days because most people use computers and even tried online dating. iPod, iTouch, need I say more? So I think in some ways your right, they would be super-impressed by the fact that I can write up a good profile and have cool photos. |

Web Developer is cool; as long as it == PHP && != ASP. |

Doesn't matter to me. I'm Master level and beyond taking sides! Like Mac vs PC. I'm the enlightened ones and just do it for a living haha. Man, hope I get good at online sarging. I know a friend who is now talking to 5 chicks and a few are potential f*ck buddy and he's moving in with 1. I will pick his brain on how the did it, but one thing is for sure... he did it all in POF. So I wouldn't dismiss POF, it is a good "dojo" place to practice. |

I live in a small city in bumfuck nowhere. If you live in a big city then stay on Plenty of fish all the time. If not, what I do is sign up, put together a great profile with one good picture of me, and just message every woman on the site with personal notes. Once you get a few dates and have exhausted all options, delete your profile and try again in 3 months. Definitely are diminishing returns the longer you stay on there. Some people on here have said, oh just use facebook or myspace. In my experience it's kind of creepy unless you live in a big town with lots of options. I just use facebook and myspace to follow up with people I've met, they can tag you in those dumb pictures girls take all the time, etc. |
