Don't reply back to your message. For example; I messaged a girl.. the status was "read" I didn't request her as friend but she requested me, however.. she didn't reply to my message? WTF?

Some girls will add you just to see if they can figure out if they know you. Then when they realize that they don't...they don't respond. This happens a lot on sites like MySpace and Facebook. Remember these sites were not designed for online dating they were designed more for social networking. Not saying there aren't methods that don't work on these sites but this will happen.

Oh yeah, I've been testing out myspace/facebook over the past year and have watched this happen quite a bit.. but still wasn't sure why exactly they would do that..

On a lot of the social type sites you have a number of types that won't ever reply. Sometimes it's simply a fake profile somebody set up. I'm automatically skeptical of any profile where the girl is listed as "bi" or if she seems to only have modeling pics. Also some people are just friend collectors to either feed their egos or to enable them to do better on a game the site offers. You have to be wary of gamers that use fake profiles too. It's always a good idea to either see the person on webcam or at the very least have them take a pic of themself with a written message to you. But if someone doesn't return your messages there could be a chance the person is a fake. There are more social sites that have some form of a video meeting system. I know Stickam does that for sure. I wouldn't worry about one person not writing back though. All you can do is make your attempts and if one doesn't bite just make the most of the ones that do.

So wot if the girl adding u is someone u know?

I had met this girl last week, and she has a bf so I can't do anything public with her. Anyways I waited and waited and eventually she added me instead of me adding her (big points). But how would u go about trying to reel her in?

I've had a few successful "accidents" through new Facebook contacts, but it was just a matter of luck there, because I happened to be contacted by girls who especifically stated their intent.

The vast majority of times, people just add each other in Facebook out of innocent curiosity or because they have common friends and what not.

So, take extra caution with online gaming through non dating sites. Women who are interested will probably send you a message stating their intent first any way. I think it just boils down to common sense and "netiquette", really.
