Hey troops, I've been running into a few things recently, that I'd like some thoughts on. When online, chatting away, mid-game or after opener, I ask questions for qualification and she doesn't know what to say and from that I don't know what to reply with most of the time! Here's an Example. Code: ME:
So what is something I would never guess about you, just by looking at you?

I agree this problem tends to come up sometimes, if it does happen I just usually neg her on it. I'd say something like...your saying a girl like you has NOTHING interesting to tell at all? Or something among those lines. If she tells something about what she did great relate to it and if not maybe go into a DHV story about something crazy you've done and try to include her in it some how with future outlook. |

I've seen that too. her kind of response always seemed to me to be a big DLV on their part. its perfect neg territory. trouble is it doesnt entirely bode well for what comes after. One way is get into more aspirational stuff. |

I've had mixed success with those kind of questions. Some are more than happy to play along, but with others it get's, shall we say a lackluster response. Do you ever try asking those questions of yourself? They can be hard to answer, especially if your trying to be fun or present yourself well. I usually take it as either a lack of emotional involvement on her end or an unsureness of how to respond to the question. Either way, I typically recalibrate and try a different approach. Might throw a gentle neg/tease in there, but it can be easy to overdo it and come across like an asshole. I also examine the context. I think a lot of times a women won't comply and gives you a poor answer as a shit test. In that case stick to your frame and plow through it. An mid thread, example from a convo I'm currently having Quote: Her: wedding crashers...what is this?? movie trivia 101?
Which got a good response and moved the conversation along.
Me: Movie Trivia 101? Well miss sassy pants.. I'm glad to see your paying attention and not playing hooky! Your prize for the correct answer is a cookie. I would deliver it, but crumbs are probably all that would be left by the time it got to you. You seem like a fun person to chat with, but I’m not yet curious enough to ask the standard questions. Philosophy 315 and Statistics 201 are advanced courses and you have to work up to them. So let’s go with Travel 120; say you could go anywhere you wanted, no responsibilities or finances to worry about. Where would you go? What would you do? |
