| Post subject: | Plenty of Fish girl IOIs, says she wants to IM chat |
Okay, so for those of you guys who read my last post, that one is pending an answer from the girl (I used Stetson's idea). Today, I saw there is ANOTHER sexy HB that sent me a message on Plenty of Fish (I censored her name...): "You are too cute. It says that you added me as a favorite. Thank you i'm flattered. You seem interesting and I'd like to get to know you better. I'm ******** by the way. I think we might have a few things in common and can get along well. Do you have AIM? If so, instant message me @ ***********. - ********* " She also sent me an online gift, it's a teddy bear. This definitely LOOKS like an IOI unless she bought lots of digital "gifts" to send to guys. But she wants me to IM her, should I do this? Or is it too "needy" to let her lead like that? Should I just email her instead, or say that I don't use AIM? Also, her profile asks guys "If you would like to know more about me, feel free to drop me a line. the Instant messager on this site doesn't work right, so hit me up on AIM" But this seems, for lack of a better word, fishy... I figure that if I use AIM I will end up as just another AIM buddy in her long long list. So what's the best option guys? |

Use AIM, go back and forth, get her number by telling her you have to make sure she's not some fat 40-something-year-old guy living in his parent's basement, meet, then make it do what it do. |

A second hard IOI approach message from a hot babe already? That just marked plenty of fish (which is a DATING site) as a non-legit site in my books. Its gotta be something like a bot sending those messages to all the males there. |

Nope, no bots, sorry to disappoint you. I have been on POF for a month now, these chicks are ones that I myself added to my favorites list. They noticed my badass profile (and I must admit I got some VERY good profile tips from the guys on this forum, thanx a million!) and they sent me messages. I also shot down a not-so-hot chick that tried to message me a couple of weeks ago. Though it was really an accident with "over-negging". I've just got 2 new messages here, it's not like I got hundreds. I do get bots from myspace and a couple "dating sites" I fooled around with, but those are all the same, i.e. they say "I remember you" when I CLEARLY had never known them (example: one chick who "remembered" me was named Kimberly, and I have NEVER personally known a Kimberly in my entire life, so I knew it was either a bot or a guy behind that picture). These bots never showed up on POF. Though that still doesn't address my question about whether using AIM after the chick tells you to, is "beta" or whether it is okay for PUA to do. |

Keep in mind that rules (for lack of a better term) can be broken given the circumstances and you can still suceed. If she wants to talk to you on AIM there's got to be some interest so go for it. Just don't go on and on when chatting with her, make fun of her and shit just like you'd do in the real world. Refer back to my first post.

Well in that case if it isn't a bot... "Nope. We have nothing in common and certainly CAN'T get along well as long as you don't have *Insert messager name*! Say something like that and perfect it for yourself. I trust you to know how and what to say already. |

Wait a second... so I am supposed to do this even though she already made it clear she has AIM? Is this just cocky-funny sarcasm, or so you mean I should suggest a different messager than AIM?

I'm sort of confused with those two posts too. Just do what I said. |

Just get her AIM, her giving you her aim is essentially a stronger version of the subtle IOI's they throw out at clubs. If she does throw an IOI at a club, it's beta to not approach. Why would online sarging be any different? You get her on aim, and then you control the conversation. |
