Post subject:  The "wig" opener: WARNING
Ok, so I know that there are millions of people online. I understand that. But I was thinking about something today, and became really concerned.

I, like others, am a fan of the "Is that your real hair, or a wig?" opener online.

Like many, I have had great success and return rates by using this. But eventually this opener is going to be played out. Unlike sarging in the field, you cannot manipulate the situation or use the environment around you to game.

There will come a point online when this becomes just as weak as "Hi, you're cute." Why? BECAUSE EVERYONE IS USING IT.

I swear I have used this on 50 girls in the past 3 months. ( I get bored during class :twisted: )

I propose that starting now we get more creative with our online openers.

Any suggestions guys? We need to be more creative. What has worked for you other then the wig opener??

Nice thoughts...

I always have the same as soon as you click send and the opener is on its way to a HB...then you think what are the chances that someone else has beat you to it...especially if she's a hottie! You see some girls say on Facebook that have literally thousands of friends so it can be a concern!!

Personally i've not used the "WIG" opener though!

I used the 'Is that your real hair or extensions' variation.

Quite Successful but its hard to progress sometimes.

yea ive wondered that myself so i use different openers so i dont send the same one over and over again...my favs i listed in the plenty of fish section but it applys to all aspects of online sarging...

Beauty is Common...If you take a look around this site you'll see there are beautiful people everywhere. What else do you have going for you besides your looks? this one b on your toes you may get a shitty response but ive over came the shitty ones tho lol.....how i get out of this one alot is by saying easy killer i was just trying to send you something different,it sure beats the normal perv mesasages you get right? always will respond well you got a point there ...


this is a few that have worked well for me...i use so many different ones its all about being different.....

I tend to rehash lines quite a lot.

take the usual cute stuff and turn it into

"u sure know how to make sexy work but...." etc

or

"I like your look..."

and instead of "beauty is common", "looks aren't everything"


the more u can put in less formal wording and your own colloquialisms the better I think. It just sounds more natural.

Depending on the information available, feisty can be a good word to use cos no one else seems to use it but potentially u can get stuck with "what makes you think that" but if they agree you can roll straight into "I can see you're going to be trouble lol".

"seem" and "kind of" are good too as it puts you under all the other guys who cant restrain their enthusiasm and if its coupled with something more positive like "so what else is cool about you?" it's kind of a confusing sentence and the times I got answers they seemed to be a bit confused. Needs some more experimentation to figure out whether they were isolated incidents or not. Maybe I've accidently discovered something nlp related.

Point 1: How many times have you actually been called out on your use of the wig line? I remember reading somewhere where guys said that they got called out on using game about once out of every 170 approaches. I probably used this line before I stopped over one hundred times and never once got called on it (although I did get a few angry responses) :-).

Point 2: It doesn't matter if she calls you out. The point of an opener is to open; it's to get her talking to you. If she bothers to reply, then the set is open, and you proceed with your game. Admittedly there is some concern that if the opener gets too widespread then she might just blow you off and not respond at all, but I haven't found that to be a serious concern.

Point 3: The reason the wig opener works is because it cuts to the self-image (and admittedly insecurities) of a hot girl. Everybody tells her she's beautiful, and then here comes this guy who opens up the possibility (which she secretly fears) that her hair looks weird. The beauty of MySpace is that she's already advertised to you (and the whole world) what she prides herself on (and therefore what's she's also secretly afraid isn't really cool). So while everybody else is saying "Ur hott!!", you can read her page and go, "Can you really surf, or is that picture photoshopped?", or "La Lupe? Never heard of them" (said to a woman who professes her complete devotion to La Lupe). So what happens is she feels the need to qualify herself, and the game is on. If you personalize all your openers in this way, you don't have to worry about getting called out.

Ask the girl and innocence question pretending your doing a research assignment for class and an opener and the escalate from there. I can't see how that can fail.

I think I've just discovered another that works cos of psychology.

imply that they might be *just* a pretty face. In tagging environments,
'more than just a pretty face I hope' elicits a lot of qualification I've noticed.
the more they desire to be recognised as more than looks the better it seems to work.

Im sure it could be built into an opener.


nb: it seems to work best on older intelligent females. dim ones dont get it at all~ bit of a problem in the UK lol

This is a legitimate concern. When I first had success with the "wig" opener I used it frequently and started to noticed some women had obviously heard that line before. After awhile it becomes diluted. Dedicated and creative PUA's will take necessary action to stay one step ahead in the game.
