Damn dude, lol. Something tells me she WANTS this, she just feels like members of society won't except it! "I don't think my boss would either." She could be feeling compelled to say no for the simple fact that she doesn't want to be look down upon by her peers. HOWEVER, you are no longer a student and that relationship should be altered to something different. I say you neg her and call her out. Maybe instead of "partying" you can ask her to meet up for coffee and talk about those boring ass books in a manner that will intrigue her. If this is accomplished you will be more likely to arrange a second hang out which could be turned into a date which could be turned into a freaky nasty english teacher letting lose on you!!!
Anyways, I would say don't give up. Put her in your frame. If she wasn't interested I'm sure her message wouldn't have been that long.
