I thought we could bash about some ideas on how to DHV in your profile on websites - whether they be Facebook, Myspace, POF, or other sites. There are many different ways to skin the same cat, so let's focus on what's gotten results for you in the past. 1. Humour. I tend to go over the top in a profile, and sometimes will write the whole thing tongue in cheek. Nothing overly crude or offensive, but a little edgy will make you stand out from the crowd. 2. Photos. At least one picture of you with friends, you with a chick friend, and you doing something active/interesting (sports, guitar, bungee jumping). I always like to have a travel picture in there too. Don't say where it is, or what you're doing, 'cos you want to leave room for them to ask. Any more? |

For me... the profile is the most important thing on these kind of sites. 1. Photos: Girls need to se that you have a very social life, that you know a lot of people, that you`re funny and that there is a lot of going on in your life etc. 2. Comments: You need to have a lot of comments. You can PM some girls and tell them something like: hey. I just broke up with my girlfriend and now she is stalking my profile. Could you leave some cute, sexy (whatever) comment to make her a little bit jeaolus. Thanks. (something like that) 3. You need to stand out: You`re profile should be different, interesting (not weird.. interesting!) etc. There is probably some other things, but i cant remember now. But I think that these 3 things are the most important. |

Quote: 1. Humour. I tend to go over the top in a profile, and sometimes will write the whole thing tongue in cheek. Nothing overly crude or offensive, but a little edgy will make you stand out from the crowd. I would avoid going over the top with the humor in the profile. As it will most likely come across as someone to be friends with and not to date. I am not saying not to show any humor. But you need to balance things out.Quote: 2. Photos. Don't say where it is, or what you're doing, 'cos you want to leave room for them to ask. On dating sites like POF I would avoid putting up a picture with a female friend if it is just the two of you in the picture. As that will send up red flags to the girl when she reads your profile.Quote: For me... the profile is the most important thing on these kind of sites. I agree. Quote: 1. Photos: Girls need to se that you have a very social life, that you know a lot of people, that you`re funny and that there is a lot of going on in your life etc. You don't need to show you know a lot of people, but most definitely show you have a social life.Quote: 2. And the number of people commenting on your profile. Quote: 3. You need to stand out: You`re profile should be different, interesting (not weird.. interesting!) etc. Agree. I would further say on sites like MySpace where you can customize the looks of your profile. I would say make sure it is tasteful and readable. To add to what was already said, the wording and words/phrases used in your profile are key. A lot of people use the same words/phrases and wordings in their profile. Just look at how many people use such phrases as "down to earth" or "laid back". Find a creative way to say the same thing or another word to use. For example instead of saying "down to earth" say your practical. |
