Post subject:  How would you handle this?

Hi all, I am not completely new to game but am new to this forum. This girl messaged me on POF. We talked a little bit and I told her to text me if she is interested in meeting up. We are about to meetup in a couple hours and she randomly texts "You don't seem too happy." Seems like some kind of random shit test no? Or maybe didn't build enough comfort but it just seemed like it was a bit out of place. Here is how the exchange has gone:

Jen: This is Jen from POF (picture)

7055: Nice picture! This is Dan (picture)

Jen: Thank you :)

7055: How was your weekend?

Jen: My weekend was good how was urs?

7055: It was good, are you available for drinks Saturday afternoon?

Jen: Nope I work

Jen: (2 days later) How's ur day?

7055: It was good, thanks. So I assume you'd like to meet up sometime?

Jen: Yes

7055: That sounds good, I'm free Sunday afternoon. Let me know if that works for you

Jen: I work Sunday til 4

7055: How about 6:30 at XXX

Jen: Ok that should work on Sunday!

7055: Okay sounds good, we'll plan on that then

Jen: Yes yay

Jen: Sooo still on for Sunday?

7055: Still on for Sunday

Jen: Cool

7055: (3 hours before meet up) Are you still on for drinks at 6:30?

Jen: Yes where is it at?

7055: SSounds good, its at XXX

Jen: What city

7055: City XYZ

Jen: Ok cool yeah we are still on for 630

7055: Ok, see you then

Jen: U don't seem too happy

Jen: Hey I hate to do this now but my aunt just told us she has lung cancer all my family is going over to her house, do you mind if we reschedule for another day?

Jen: I don't think I'd be very good company right now

Jen: Would Wednesday work for u?

Well if it's true I can imagine she wouldn't want to be out on a date.

If Wed works for you just agree.

It's promising she proposed an alternate date. If she was simply flaking on you she likely wouldn't have.

Now... If she flakes on Wednesday, then - yeah... That's another story.

Rule of thumb is if a girl suggests a reschedule with a specific date in mind, chances are her excuse to flake was legit. Just go with it. If she flakes again on Wed, just text back "cool next time" - then hit her up after a few days or so - I always give a girl at least 3 attempts.

As for the "you don't seem too happy" - this is buyer remorse, she acted excited and showed too much interest, now she felt bad because your tone is quite neutral and stoic. Next time add a flirt or tease when you're inviting a girl out so it'll ease her mind.

But at the same time, it was her waiting a day or more inbetween replies.

I kind of suspected that maybe it was a shit test and she wanted to see if I would jump the gun when she said that and try and makes things all better. But when I didn't reply, she had to come up with a reason to save it herself.

Just FYI, I took it as legit and told her I was sorry about her Aunt and rescheduled
