Post subject:  What makes a good profile

I've been successful with online dating probably more than the next guy, due to my looks, but I'm wondering what makes a good profile??? I've always taken the humorous/flirtatious and indirect approach when talking about myself or messaging a girl. In my view, it makes you more interesting. its better to be noticeable and racy and put a little more time in the profile than look like everyone else. Also the way you describe yourself can affect how girls perceive you in the sense of value.

I'm just wondering what strategies you guys have had success with: Being a slight ass(but not directly rude) I've read this strategy works. Being strait up and direct?

I use to go for the whole cocky/funny style and it semi-worked. But after a while, I figured out what exactly worked for me and I pursued it. From my pictures, I come off either as a nerd or a pure gentlemen so instead of shaping my profile around that. My profile had a short 2-3 sentence about myself and what I do. After that, I just added in a few key hook points that would attract a girl while adding in minor bits of humor to keep her reading. I forgot which book I read this from but a hook that would work well on a dating site is, "I'm real good at keeping conversation flowing, if we hang out there will never be an “awkward silence”, if you’re nervous I will just tease you." Simple yet powerful line. Tells her that you can hold a conversation which most people cant and it also tells her that if she is quiet, you'll tease her till she talks which is great for most girls who are either shy around new people or are just shy/quiet in general. I would say post your profile here and most of the guys here will attempt to clean it up. Once you have a solid profile, next comes the messaging. I've tried quite a bit of openers and I just stick to using information off her profile because it works best. Just shoot her a message about one thing you like about her profile and within the same message pick one topic to tease her about. Obviously if she loves dogs you don't say, "dogs are so horrible" in your message. Something simple like, Oh snap, you have a pretty awesome taste in music, In Shallow Seas We Sail is my favorite Emery song.. But ohh wait, you like dogs? Everyone knows that cats are where its at!"

This got real long real fast, my bad dude lol.

Is less more when it comes to writing a profile?.... Maybe I'm over analyzing it, but I'm thinking now the more description you put in a profile, no matter how you write it makes a guy look desperate. Any thoughts?

cool post man!

i don't use an about me on my tinder or any tag line-
i also use pictures that i'm smiling and actually look good in

not a picture of you about to eat a sub or an instagram photo of your TV dinner lol

when it comes down to it, diversify the subjects in your photos, each picture should say a little bit about you, not say the exact same thing as the last picture

make since? i hope so
