Alright so long story short, I first scheduled the date while still messaging over okc and right at the end I got her number for setting final details. With today being thursday we agreed on going out tuesday, I'd meet her after class (since im off for a week) and we'd find a place together for food. Having come out of a LTR about a year ago, I've had my fair share of hook ups and one night stands but the last few dates from girls I've met not online haven't gone 100% great. Especially when it comes to paying the bill, I never know what to do so I just snatch it right away. So how does it work with a date set up online? Do I text her to confirm the day of? We're going to be going out for a slice of pizza for lunch, do I pay for her? Is a k close expected or not expected in an online date? After being in a LTR these are the thing you tend to forget once you get comfortable with someone, and this new online thing...oh its a whole new game! |

One more thing I forgot to ask, with the date being set today but actually happening on tuesday, how much texting and communicating should be had inbetween? I know some people say as little as possible but others say go on no problem, I feel like the more one texts the higher the chance of ruining it? Thanks again! |

Yes you pay. Forget all this PUA shit that says not to pay. A slice of pizza? Seriously, you are going to look like the biggest fucking cheap bastard in the world if you don't even offer to pay for a slice of pizza or make any kind of issue about who pays. |

My experience with online dating is that it usually works out better when splitting the bill, but it depends on what kind of chick you are working with. If you are paying (and this is going to seem rude), you'll get better results on average if you verbally take notice of how big the check is. A lot of etiquette books say to put your money on the table when you sit down and pay for the date, but my experience is that you will look like a beta jerk if you do that, and it lowers the odds of getting what you want. For most girls, whether you leave a tip and how big the tip is makes more of an impression than whether you pay for the check. Paying for girls actually makes the game harder. One thing that will greatly improve the odds that you see the chick again is if you go multiple places on the date. |

Thanks that is some great advice! What I actually found out (especially for you Toronto guys!) is that the ROM museum is actually free on tuesdays for post secondary students with ID for proof, so what I was thinking was after the pizza, if everything is going well bring that up since I'm not meeting her too far from there and heading on over, or would it be better to let her know before hand so she 'makes time'?One thing that will greatly improve the odds that you see the chick again is if you go multiple places on the date. That whole paying debate grows more and more with time, and for the guy calling my a cheap bastard for not paying for her pizza, with a charge that small its more of an insult to her if I pay for her slice than not Thanks again for all the great advice tho, I know it's basic questions but I trust you guys the most to answer them! |

Haha this one had me laughing. I agree, I mean if you go on couple dates with the same girl pay for her stuff and after your attempts to K-Close or further she gives you the cold shoulder than split the bill or try to get her to pay for it.

No. No. No. No. No. Pay. Don't even look at the bill. Just throw down your credit card like a fucking man who doesn't give a shit about the price of a date. It's a date. If you even CARE how much a date costs, you are beta.

Seriously, just take her to a place where you won't have to give a shit about the bill. The whole thing is about her, not the food, is the steamy fancy lobster the one working to get laid? No, you are. I had a friend take his girlfriend to applebee's and he bitched about the bill, his dad even told him to save the girl the trouble and break it off. Don't be that guy. This is one of the things that I find depends on who you are. If you're good at carrying text convos, lengthen it, if not just make it simple and set up a date. I tend to lengthen the text conversations and get to know them a bit.Although what you always want to do is end the interaction first and every now and then take time between text responses because, of course, you're busy and have things to do. If neither, just gauge it, if she's into texting talk to her a bit more, some girls are more comfortable this way, if it seems bland play around with it and set up an activity for you two quicker. |
