I've done a lot of ad-libbing messages to individual girls based on their profiles and have had limited success and have finally given into the idea of "field testing" an opener. I came up with this one this morning: "Pleased to meet you XXXXXX. I'm looking for someone to rock my world as much as I rock hers, but starting to think she won't be found around these parts. If you have that rare knockout quality then shoot me a message and let me see for myself..." Not bad, any thoughts? I do like this one but think it might sound a little too scripted and copy/pasted, so I came up with one tonight. I've just sent the following to around 50 girls on http://www.freedating.co.uk: "Haven't read your profile, just judging on your appearance and will learn the rest through conversation, don't need the version you tell the average chumps" The big plus with this one is it sounds off-the-cuff (which it kinda was) and doesn't sound like it's been copy and pasted. Also, having set up a female profile just to see what the competition is up to, I'm pretty sure "Haven't read your profile" will stand out. Normally it's "hey how are you, having a good day?" I'm guessing that "judging on your appearance" will be a novelty as well. Not many guys probably say that upfront. I also like the implication that we're going to have a special unique conversation where she will reveal things she doesn't reveal to most guys. Anyway, sending a message like this is (a) easy and (b) makes you feel like the mack. Acting as if is a powerful thing. Just saying this shit makes me feel more relaxed. Either they qualify themselves to me or they don't. Up to them. I don't lose either way. |

How is your response rate? Personally I like on-the-spot messages, if it takes time to think about it I see it as robotic and not genuine. I opened a girl who had cool bands with "I'd give you a cookie for your awesome taste in music, but you might just get a truckload for knowing the coolest bands in existence" Your method helps with creativity, genuine compliments, and attention to detail so it's a definite good thing to practice for conversation in person. |

The feedback from this site is pretty detailed so I know who's read the messages. Only two so far and neither replied yet. Hopefully they're thinking "who does this guy think he is?" and thinking about how to put me in my place. Bring it on...

I've got one response in about twelve reads so far, but it was positive, just said "hey hows u" I realised getting this message that it really is more interesting and exciting to chat to girls without having read their profiles, and that this is a legitimate angle to take and not just a case of being lazy. So with that in mind I've come up with this opener and sent it to another 25: "Just to warn you, I don't read profiles. It's not that I'm not interested, it's just that too many girls ruin their mystique and I wouldn't want that to happen to you" I think this is a lot more playful than my previous one but still has a similar underlying arrogance, which is a good combination. What's cool about this is it totally defeats the girls who wanna get snotty on their profiles and pre-emptively screen guys out. From the word go, I've set the frame that I'M the one doing the screening... |

I think the effectiveness of this opener has been proved by me getting a response just while writing my last message: "Oh wow get you ! Warning messages to me are like bee's round honey!! ;;)" I think I'm onto a winner here... [my reply: "Well I guess you don't need me then!  "
