Alright, I'm using this app on my cell phone called Minus, where you can find people to chat with according to their geographical distance to your location (it's using GPS). It's really cool. I'm new to the game but I picked up a few concepts and actually attempted to try them out yesterday.

Found this girl on Minus and thought she was cute so I just favorited her to text her later. Then, incidentally, she texted me first instead. This is the conversation flow from there on:

She: "hallo ^^"

Me: "Hi, can I ask a question? What do you think about Miyazaki retiring?"
(her profile indicated she had an interest for anime. This was my opening.)

She: "i absolutely adore his films! spirited away and ponyo are my little angels - i hope there will be more wonderful films like that ^^"

Me: "I disagree. Spirited was okay. Ponyo one of his better films. But we obviously share the same taste. I've seen everything from Miyazaki."
(small neg there)

She: "yes well we all have different tastes! I just hope Tim Burton manages to produce a few more goodies before he retires ^^"

Me: "I'm not a big fan of Tim Burton. Nightmare was good, since then it's been going downhill for him."
(another neg)

Me: "You seem like a real movie geek. Quick question: Which upcoming cinema films are you looking forward to?"

She: "hmmm that wasn't an easy question! I'd probably say Hunger Games, read the books and loved the first movie - and the second one seems awesome! ^^ I recently saw the Conjuring, real good scary movie! 9/10!"

Me: "Scary movies are the best. I love the tension and I'm sensitive enough to be fun watching with, I often hide my face in my hands to avoid getting startled in some scenes. Do you find that ridiculous? "

She: "No I don't! i have to change diapers every now and again myself - hahah ^^ scary movies are great because then you can be intimate with your partner - hihi ^^"
(IOI?)

She: "My favorite movies are Paranormal Activity and the Ring ^^"

Me: "Well, that's if you got a partner. In other cases it does just fine to be intimate with someone else. PAranormal activity fucked up my brain so I couldn't sleep right for at least a month."
(sadly true story, that movie fucked up my head for some reason)

Me: "Hey, I don't often use Minus. Could we continue this conversation in some other way?"

She: "Absolutely! Kik?"
(tempting but not my goal)

Me: "Sorry, don't use kik."
(that's a lie)

She: "SPAM? ^^"

Me: "Nah, I only use SPAM for school projects. If you've got a phone number that would be the best "

She: "oh right! didn't think about that. ^^ 07****** oh and I have a test coming up!"


Number-close!

From here on it's been SMS-texting since a few hours back. Here's the current log:

Me: "Good luck on your test! / Garruk from Minus "

She: "thank you! ^^"

Me: "Question: I bought this shirt today and I'm going out with a friend tonight. Would it be okay to wear it or do I look bad? "
(i sent her a photo of me wearing my new shirt - it could as well have been an old shirt though)

She: "very nice! the necklace fits the shirt perfectly! i recommend it ^^ you look good "

Me: "Thanks, that's nice to hear! I'd love to say the same about you but you don't have too many photos of yourself on Minus."
(trying to get her to send me a pic)

Yea, don't over-game; online, if a girl messages you back, she is probably interested, so you don't need too much game.. I'm actually about to post an article about that on my website....

Still new to all of this. Just by reading a few chapters of Strauss' book has made me more confident to try hitting on girls. I guess I'm easily influenced but sometimes that's a good thing.

Beside you both are on online dating site, you both know why you contact each other, you both know why you keep responding back and forth. Why don't you just cut the chase and get to the point?
