| Post subject: | I would appreciate anyone's honest opinion |
Hi, I am new to all of this, but I could really use an opinion on my situation. It is a long story so I will try to make it brief. One of my matches on OKC was a girl I had met before (about 2 years ago) she worked at a store down the street from where I used to live. So I sent her a message asking if she used to work there (although I was 99% sure she did) She said she remembered me and we chatted later that night. Before I said Good night, we exchanged numbers and she asked for my last name. She then said she wanted to look me up on FB. We had mutual friends, one of which was a very close friend of hers from high school. He was also a good friend of mine and she said "just says more about you" The next time I texted her things continued to go well and she asked me to meet her for a drink. The only problem was that she was working in the City, so it would have to wait 2 weeks when she came home for a weekend visit. So everything was going well, but I didn't want 2 weeks to pass having not said a word to her. I sent her occasional texts just to try to keep me on her mind. Sometimes back to back days, other times three to four days apart. She always responds very quickly, but I didn't feel very strongly about the conversation. I don't think my personality works with text convos. So on the weekend we were supposed to meet, I sent her a text on Friday saying although it was going to rain all weekend we could still get that drink. She said "True, I am thinking maybe tonight" Then later that night she said her weekend was too busy and we would have to reschedule for when she gets back for good (Which she doesn't even know when that will be) Now she always responds very quickly and with a lot of smiley faces, however she never initiates the conversation. So I wanted to test her and try to get her comfortable with starting the conversation. But, this is where I think I screwed up. I told her (on Friday) to send me a text when she got back to the City (which would be Sunday), so I would know she was alright. As I am sure you have guessed, she failed to do so and I haven't heard from her since. So do you think I came on too strong with that message? Was there too much time in between? Or is this a hopeless cause? Thank you in advance if you read my long story. |

Stop being a girl, and send her anything cocky and funny. Or hold your breath til she replies. If she doesn't reply so what, move on. |

99% of the time when you tell a girl to text/call you later, they won't (unless they're super invested or you're already involved with them). Forget it, don't text her for a day or two, and continue what you were doing before. #1 things is you don't want to appear needy. |

Yes, study (and study and study) cocky and funny ... read David DeAngelo's "Double Your Dating" ebook if you have questions (it's around $14). Then practice, practice, practice with women. You will eventually see tremendous results. Even if you already are good at c&f, you need to practice more in order to really integrate into your life. Try writing 50 women on OkCupid you would not ordinarily write to (so you can save the choice girls for later) and just bust on them with cocky/funny (obviously avoiding any meanness), and see which ones respond. Just an idea... Cheers, ~50 |

Thanks RedBarron, that's good to hear because I have already invested so much time. 50, I will have to buy that ebook since I have been looking for my next read. Thanks for the advice too. |
