Post subject:  OKC Blog - The abridged version
I'm sure some of you know that OKC has its own blog called OKTrends where they used to analyse the data about which profiles get the most messages, which pictures generate the most interest, and what messages result in the most responses (among other things).
I spent some time perusing the blog and pulled out some of the more relevant information in the hope that some of us might find it useful.


Photos
*Choose your camera
Generally, cameras with interchangeable lenses take the most attractive pics, then point & shoots, then camera phones.
Try to avoid using the flash.

Pictures with lower f numbers (shallow depth of field, subject is in focus while rest is blurred) are more attractive. f/1.2 is much better than f/22. You may be able to imitate this effect with photoshop.
The best times to take pictures seem to be 0400, 0630 and 1630/1700.

*To smile, or not to smile
For women, smiling is always good, but flirting directly at the camera is best.
If you're a man, and you probably are, then these are the pics you want to go for, or not as the case may be(women met per attempt in brackets, average is ~0.59):
No eye contact, not smiling (~0.89)
No eye contact, smiling (~0.71)
Eye contact, flirty face (~0.64)
Eye contact, smiling (~0.63)
Eye contact, not smiling (~0.55)
No eye contact, flirty face (~0.35)

*What you're doing
With Animal (~0.90)
Showing off muscles (~0.89)

Avoid:
Outdoors (~0.52)
Drinking (~0.46)
Travel photos (~0.45)

Clothing:
No shirt/topless (~0.89) (I imagine this only applies if you have the kind of body you'd want to show off)
Normal clothes (~0.595)
All dressed up (~0.57)

*Face pics
Having your face hidden is ok as long as the pic is interesting in some other way (scuba diving, rope bondage(might be girls only), pic taken from a distance, etc).

*Start with an unusual greeting

Do not use Hi, Hello, Hey, or Holla (from worst to least worst)


*Avoid netspeak, bad spellings and bad grammar.

This would tend to indicate that the ideal is for you to be in a muscular atheist in a metal band, include pictures of you with a cute fluffy animal with no shirt on(you, not the animal) in order to show off your ripped physique, taken with a reasonably pricey camera, and your first message should talk about her profile and interests but not her boobs.
