If I put a picture up such as this one, would they realize it's a hilarious joke, or would they think I was a psycho cat guy? That's not me in the photo, btw. I don't even have a cat. :-(

I've never put that one one. EVER. Classic example of bad joke gone bad.

Well I think it's damn funny. Or at least I hope it was supposed to be a joke. Otherwise it's damn sad.

OMG that's too funny. If a girl actually got the joke, she'd be amazing. If you want to use your cat as a prop make it funnier. First wear something a little crazier, then have the cat up by your head, like licking your ear or something. Or maybe have the cat wearing glasses too. Or maybe have the cats hair matching yours. The cat photoshopped in the background is a bit psycho though, IMO.

It's a great prop, though, and could get you a lot more visits. Just make sure your bio shows you are funny and not a sick-o.

Can't see much point. It's not even humourous.

Think instead of displaying something cocky.

No, it is humorous, you just don't find it so. Doing something as excessively strange while passing it off as normal is a commercially successful type of humor employed in thousands of movies and television shows. Ever heard of Mr. Bean? You cannot state an opinion as flat-out fact.

He's saying that to the general public it isn't funny. For those who understand it is quite funny. If you want to appeal to the majority of women, that will kill your chances. If you want a specific girl who enjoys that humor only, then go for it. I'd try to avoid anything like that though.

It's only funny if the woman gets it. But unfortunately, this isn't something humorous for the popular demographics. You also have to factor in the fact that most of them are skeptical about the whole online dating since there are bunch of weirdos and creepers on there and all the craiglist killers thing going around. Hence, why increase your chance to be mistaken as a creep and lower your chance to land an actual date? But if he's looking for certain specific type of girls who gets that joke, then by all mean, go ahead. I would not.

I used the example of Mr. Bean earlier. Mr. Bean is meant to be a super awkward weirdo. This picture is meant to look like a crazy cat man in an ugly Christmas sweater. It's a lampoon of people who actually take pictures with their animals, taken to a far extreme. Here's another.

It's a hilarious photo, but it is also mega creepy. I'd think smart girls would like it because they would get the job if you put a reference on the pic. I don't think dumb girls would follow the logic though.
