She doesn't sound interested, the period comment was probably a bit too early in your interaction with her, it seemed a little creepy, and your eye comment seemed to offend her a bit.

You need to take an interest in what she is interested in to hook her into the conversation before you start trying to make her qualify herself to you, otherwise she won't care if she replies to you.

Ask more about her mass communication course, and ask what it involves, what parts does she enjoy? She also seemed to be more interested when you touched on her culture.

Read a bit on body language here - would seriously recommend a book called "the definitive book on body language", you can find it online in a pdf format if you don't want to scour bookstores. Neg her a bit on her course e.g. "mass communication sounds interesting, do you have to do much public speaking?" - "Don't you have to come across as confident for that?, you're getting all nervous talking to me :p haha"

You can use the knowledge in the book i mentioned before to start to talk to her about something that will improve something she is interested in (her course), this will give you higher value (DHV) and will give you more stuff to talk about.

Obviously root why you read the book in the first place - something like "oh you do public speaking? I read a book in a psychology course I did a while back that says we communicate so much more with our body language than our voices, for example - did you know we have two types of smiles? real and fake? and subconsiously we appreciate real smiles more when being spoken to.

Anyway once, you build more rapport you can begin to start throwing in more negs, and once she is hooked you can begin to make her qualify herself more.

I read alot on body language & psychology in general, I'll read the book you mentioned too. I'll go with "Mass Communication is interesting, do you do alot of public speaking ? you have to come as confident for that". then I'll talk about the book & body language. You think that will do ?
