This is the conversation. perhaps i asked to early? Should I even bother?

You’re adorable. I’m adopting you as my little sister so we can drink kool-aid and climb trees. Afterwards we can star in a commercial about how awesome adoption is and you can give a really sad face to the camera but then I come around the corner with a pitcher of kool-aid and your smile turns into a party.

Yea you have that little sister look. Hmm we can make a lot money opening up a sister rental business. We will split it 60\40. How are your acting skills? Sent from the OkCupid app

Do I have a little sister look? I don't really know if I should take that as a compliment or not. And well, I'd say pretty exceptional. Sent from the OkCupid app

Well see the little sister look is a cute one; you defiantly got that. Have you ever been in a play of sorts? Ps you are only allowed to take the things I say as compliments ;p Sent from the OkCupid app

Really, do you like it? I just moved her a year ago. One thing I will say is that I have seen some really bad drivers in CT.Sent from the OkCupid app

Ha ha, you’re pretty cute, and playing email tag on an internet dating site is a pretty lame form of communication, give me your number and I’ll give you a call in a bit, the funniest thing happened at the grocery store earlier and I need to tell someone! P.s. don't worry i understood your typo :P

Hahahah sorry I was in a rush when I typed it!

I hate it when this happens. My guess is that she's still interested but isn't ready to give out her # yet.

You did good by providing a REASON to get her number, although I'm not sure if it was a good one. In the future, remember that asking for a girl's number (even if you're telling her to give it to you, you're still asking for it) kind of tips the scales in her favor. So, to counteract that effect whenever you ask for her # or something similar, you want to add a condition on to it.

For example, my go-to is something like "This messaging thing is kinda tedious.... send me your # and I'll swing you a text, long as you promise not to blow up my phone with drunk 4am booty calls"

9 times outta 10 they eat that shit up. It's not uncommon for her to give you her number along with something like "No promises" or "Aw, ok :(." You get something like, then you know it's on.

If the conversation hasn't progressed beyond the last point you posted (she said: Hey i was in a rush when i typed that), then no, don't. If you ask for her number twice in a row it just looks needy. Continue the conversation for several messages, then ask again.
