Post subject:  Need feedback on second message

Hey guys...long time lurker first time poster. I'll admit that my game has never been the best, but its generally worked well enough for me to land a few dates and once I get in person I'm much better. I recently got out of a 1.5 year relationship and started using OkCupid again because I had success with that site in the past.

The problem is that even though I get some enthusiastic replies to my first message, I'm literally 0 for 15 on my second message, the conversation comes to a screeching halt. I'm doing something miserably wrong but for the life of me I can't see it. Here's how a typical exchange goes below, any thoughts would be GREATLY appreciated:

My First Message to HB7:
Hey Elizabeth,

I think we have way too much in common, we would just end up fighting all the time I would win of course ;-)

I see you are a fan of Once Upon a Time. I recently discovered that show and have become absolutely hooked. The Rumpelstiltskin character is amazing and whoever plays the part is a fantastic actor.

Her First Message:
Hi Joe,

Haha, oh yea? Or I would let you think you won ;)

Oh that show is one of my absolute favorites! I completely agree, the actor playing Rumpelstiltskin/Mr. Gold is a brilliant actor. If I could work on any show, that would be it. :)

So how's your week going?

~Elizabeth (Oh and good job on the name! You are one of the few to get it)

My Second Message:
Ah look, our first argument…we’ll have to settle this scuffle with a thumb war, drinks are on you when I win.

My week has been interesting thus far. I was out last night with some friends in Hermosa and we bumped into Sharon Stone…everyone started staring and freaking out and I had to tell people to chill out. The girls that were there got particularly star-struck :).

Speaking of star-struck, watching actors like Robert Carlyle (Mr. Gold) makes me appreciate how much goes into being a great performer. I look forward to seeing you on Once Upon a Time, I think you’d make a good Rapunzel ;-). In all seriousness, I love your passion for the performing arts…how has the pursuit of your dream been going? Have you been taking classes or been involved with any shows?

Look forward to hearing from you,
Joe
