Look, I'm new here so maybe my suggestions won't carry much weight. But I wrote my own profile page without anyone's help because honestly I thought a lot of profiles written on here were crap.

Before you tell me my profile looks weak I will just say that the responses I've been getting has spoken for itself. I have had 5 chicks hand over there numbers to me without me even contacting them first.

Ex: "i never do this whole emailing thing. I hate this site and am deleting it soon. but i read through your profile and even though youre from the dirty jerz I'd still like to talk. haha im jk but if you would like you can txt me - XXX-XXX-XXXX"

....but was she hot? That e-mail came from a former Eagles cheerleader and last night I hung out with a girl doing a model shoot for David's Bridal tomorrow.

have a read

"I'm a PA transplant from the Jersey Shore. I will be honest, I really miss home and my people back there. Fortunately a coffee and a 2 hour drive is all it takes to get a taste of home. I moved out here for education purposes..

Personality-wise I think I'm relatively intelligible. I'm not going to save the world, but I do offer insight and perspective. Maybe I'm old school, but I still use a phone for conversation. My humor is a mix between sarcastic and goofy, maybe even cynical at moments but mostly positive. A girl with a sharp wit who can playfully put me back in my place when I'm getting ahead of myself is a huge plus. I think most people would describe me as laid-back as cliche as that sounds, but my friends joke that nothing bothers me so that must be the aura that I put out (though my very best of friends know better).

I'm proud of the company that I keep because all my friends are smart, solid, and unique. I feel like every one of them broke the mold in their own way.

I still like to go out for drinks with my friends to tell stories and jokes, but I only really drink socially. Besides the relocation another reason why I'm on here is that I've done the bar scene for a few years now. Sometimes you meet some good people, a lot of times you don't, and loud music and social circles sometimes can get in the way of getting to know anyone. Partying still has its place, but as I get older it's losing its influence on me.

As far as hobbies go, I ran track in college so when I'm getting a bit stir-crazy going for a run is still something I really enjoy, no matter the weather or season. However my most adored activity is surfing. I've been hooked on it for fifteen years now and when the waves are big I still get excited like a six year old on Christmas morning.

What I'm looking for is somebody that captures my attention beyond their looks. I want somebody that can make me laugh. Make me have fun. I want somebody who is positive. I want somebody that engages me, challenges me, makes me think, and offers thoughtful points of view. I like women who are independent with their own thing going on because I think it's a special thing when somebody who doesn't need you, wants you around anyway. I'd prefer a person who, through some combination of intangibles, makes me feel alive and visa versa. I think that is ultimately what we are all looking for."

too long? sure. too soft? yeah

But all I know is the chick's I'm talking to are the type I'm too scared to approach in a bar, and purposely ignored the profile critiques on here because it wouldn't be ME.

Two things of note:
1)the site I used is a paying site. I think the caliber of women are hotter there than POF and other free ones
2)I happen to be a handsome bloke, so a little bit of an unfair advantage with the pictures part of it. Stop the iphone mirror shots.

I think it's brilliant, to be honest.

Very DHV, mature, and masculine. You're basically issuing a challenge to the women, almost like saying "this is what I want from you. do you think you're woman enough for that?"

I like it so much, I wish I could copy it and use it for myself. Unfortunately, I'm in the Philly area, so I wouldn't want to risk it being seen by the same women. 8)

yeah I have definitely been hit up by a lot of philly girls even though that's not where I am at. Sorry dude, other than that, I'd say copy away. Imitation is the most sincere form of flattery.

1) Paying sites are vastly different from free ones in my experience. I've tried multiple instances of both. The type of genuine mature intelligent profile you wrote works INFINITELY better on a paying site.

2) This helps A LOT. I mean a lot a lot, don't kid yourself here. In real life your charisma and game can make up for any lack of looks. Online many girls (especially on free sites) won't even read your shit if you're not cute and it doesn't catch their attention right away.

At the end of the day the thing you're doing is quite different from the majority of the guys on this forum. It works and its great, you got it solid for your environment. Props to you. Just don't think that it'll work as well on say... PoF or whatever. The 5 foot 7 average looking guy on PoF will not be getting anywhere near the same results as you even if he pasted the profile word for word = p
