I've had 5 messages with a girl on OKC and I sent her this message -

"Since we're both such spirited characters I'm wondering why we're wasting our precious time tapping away on a keyboard. I'm tempted to suggest that we meet up just so that I can be sure I'm not chatting away to a dirty, fat 40 year old man. !"

she replied -

"Dirty, fat, 40 year old men are underrated! "

me -

"Aha, a double bluff...you can't fool me!"

her -

"What specialist training have U got that qualifies your unfoolability? "

anyone good a good idea for a witty response?

Or you know, any one of a thousand different jokes about secret agents, being an android, a mind reader, or whatever random nonsense you wanna come up with.

I got a # last night by joking around about meeting in abandoned warehouses with drug lords. She had a sense of humor and went along with it, I didn't even have to ask for the digits she just did it herself. It doesn't matter exactly what you say so long as you keep the banter going and gently steer it towards real stuff, like #s or dates.

Only suggestion I have for you is to use less exclamation marks and phrases like "I'm TEMPTED to suggest".

It depends on your style. If the entire conversation has been goofy and funny up to that point then it works perfectly fine. I suppose it works for me because its very obvious that I'm joking when I say it.

I've used a ton of really creepy jokes and have yet to have any of them backfire. Its harder to do online since you gotta make it more obvious that you're joking, but its still possible. I also flip it around on them and accuse them of being a 40 year old fat man or an axe murdering serial killer at times.

any advice on how to progress to getting a number because we've already exchanged 11 messages now and ive already hinted at perhaps meeting up

i quite often get to the point of exchanging 8-10 messages but then when i try to escalate and suggest meeting or exchanging numbers the replies stop

Well, I think the good news is that she seems into you. She invited you to look at her photos, so say something positive about them (or neg her, if you can come with up something good). I think you seem to eager in your suggestion of a meeting though. I think that if you know someone purely over the internet, five messages is a rather short conversation to suggest to meet up (and by her reaction, she thought so too apparently). As for getting her number, I don't see the point: you're already talking. Find a topic of mutual (feigned) interest, talk about that for a while, then think of a reason related to this topic that makes it absolutely imperative that you guys meet up. It would be best if she initiates the meet-up, if she doesn't, you can ask again but prepare for the worst.

Well I was getting frustrated with the constant messaging (21 so far) and went in for the kill. I was doing a little james bond roelplay with her -

"M has advised me to wrap up this mission asap as my time and efforts are required on other projects. So, if you're not afraid to reveal your true identity then we must arrange a showdown - XXXXXXXXX" (my number)

she replied -

"Its not my true identity I'm concerned about!"

and then replied 8 mins later again -

"Sorry I don't mean to mess you about. I'm just concerned that we are 36% enemies! Whatever that means."

So, its obvious shes interested otherwise she wouldnt have thought about her response and then replied again. Not sure how to convince her to give up her details or contact me but the balls in her court now. Should i reply here?

you were doing well man, and she was obviously into you just by replying, let alone going along with the script.

shouldn't of let that comment put you off, should of just played on it a bit more
