Post subject:  Positive encounter on POF?!?!?!?!?

So, thought I would share a positive experience I had with POF tonight. Here is a full conversation log. I edit out her name to protect her privacy. She is known only ass 449. Pick it apart guys. Tell me what you liked, what you didn't. Enjoy. By the way. She is in a wheelchair. But super cute, and I don't discriminate against the disabled.

I love your confidence. I am a bit of a nerd too. Well when I say bit, I mean to say I have two D&D inspired tattoos, with plans for a full back exploding tardis. Anways, I will keep this first message short. You're gorgeous, I am awesome, and I think we will have some wonderful conversation.

1. I'm freaking out about the new Doctor Who episode on Saturday! It's another Weeping Angels. They creep me out sooooo much!

2. Thank you for knowing "Your" from "You're."

3. Hi. My name is Rachel. I do agree our conversations could be epic....but nerd-tastic. So tell me anything about yourself.

I can't wait for the return of the Weeping Angels. Hands down best antagonist entity ever created. Very excited to here you're a Whovian as well! I suppose your welcome (See what I did there?) for my paying attention to remedial English when I was but a boy.

It is a pleasure to meet you Rachel. I'm Aaron.

About me. I really need to update my profile here, as I am no longer driving a cab. Though I'm really excited to get back into emergency medicine. Currently I just accepted a position as an at home video game CSR. Yeah, that is right I answer a phone naked in the comfort of my own home and help fellow gamers out with their problems for 9.50 an hour. Which surprisingly is more then I made saving lives as an EMT-B!

Aside from work, I am an avid writer. something about the pencil scratching against the paper soothes me. I am indescribably intrigued by all the possibilities in our universe that physics will one day help us understand. Buda-Pest in one of the most beautiful places I have ever seen, and I believe that perception alters out realities to such a point that you and I don't even reside on the same plain of existence. Which makes this conversation all the more epic!

What about yourself?

It's a pleasure meeting you too! Any time I look at a statue I always have to double-take to see if it will come alive....I know they're not real but still, they're creepy as fuck.

I value your writing skills! I dabble in writing but I'm no where near your caliber.

Let's see...I have three jobs. I work for Heart of Illinois Special Recreation Association. I watch cognitively disabled and behavioral disorder kids after school until their parents arrive. It's a lot of work but it's even more fun at times. I coach a wheelchair basketball team in Peoria. Finally, I'm a sign language tutor at ICC. School and work keeps me busy but I do have a lot of free time.

I'm a gamer but I want to be a bigger, better one. Growing up, we didn't have a lot of extra money to spend on games so I would buy one or two RPG's and play them over and over again. I've beaten FFX so many times I've memorized all of the scenes. If I had more time I'd like to play more but I don't. I really want Skyrim sooooooo badly but don't have the time.

The one thing I do have time for is music. My parents met because of music so I feel it is my duty as their daughter to uphold the musical traditions set out before my conception. In elementary school, I taught myself how to play the piano and in the last couple years I've taught myself how the play the guitar. I like them both but I prefer to sing. All of my friends say I should tryout for a singing show but I really do not feel it's the best choice for me. I love music but I don't want to pull a Kurt Cobain and flip shit. I'd rather stick with my Deaf folk and disabled athletes.

So are you from the Peoria Area?

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 5:24:35 PM
Yes I am. Though I never really claim any one place as my home. Throughout my educational career I have been to 27 different schools. Traveling is kinda in my blood. It became a part of me at such a young age I doubt I will ever shake it. There is something that you can only get from the road. It is very difficult to describe. All I know is that it makes me feel alive and whole. At the moment I reside in East Peoria with my grandmother. She has had a rough time of late so I gave up my swinging bachelor pad with my best friend and moved back in to help her out around the house will bills and such. It is not ideal for a young man of 24 to be living with his grandmother. She needs me and I love her, so that is all that really matters. It is also nice that my grandmother understands I am an adult, that I pay the bills, and handle my responsibilities. Thus she treats me like such. Not something most people would get. So it works out. If you find the time for Skyrim I wouldn't be opposed to loaning you my copy. I have picked up The Witcher 2 and doubt I will be putting it down anytime soon. I have actually been enjoying it more then I did Skyrim and Mass Effect. Both supurb games, but the Witcher takes the cake. Of course you take a second look. Don't even blink! God I am such a nerd. Can't help it though. I strive to be more like the Doctor. Helping people, exploring the fantastic, narrowly escaping. That would be the life. I would like to ask about the long technical name. My uncle was a paralyzed as well, for the majority of my life. Between that experience, and my emergency medicine background, I must say I am curious.

449/26/2012 5:38:45 PM
I would totally take you up on that offer but I'm still not fully moved in. I still have quite a few items, including my ps3, still in Champaign.
I'm not going to say, "awww, you're taking care of your grandmother?! That's sooo sweet!" It's family. I completely understand. I'd do anything for my family....leaving the bachlorette life included.
It's called a spinal arteriovenous malformation, Spinal AVM. It's veins and arteries wrapped around my spinal cord (from T6-T9) that choked off the blood supply in my spinal cord. I had it when I was born but my family and I had no idea. It seriously was walking one minute and disabled the next. We found out a few days after the initial onset of the paralysis that I had two aneurysms attached to my Aorta that were about to blow. I was rushed in for an emergency procedure to fill them and then was in the hospital for another seven weeks. It was a fun time for a twelve year old. I preferred going to six flags but it was still fun.

Okay. I would like to cut through the bullshit and say. Let's get together for a cup of coffee.

449/26/2012 5:57:55 PM
Haha. Direct and to the point. I'd love to get a cup of coffee sometime.

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 6:06:41 PM
I have enjoyed the conversation thus far. Why pussyfoot around. Tomorrow 5pm East Peoria Steak n Shake.

449/26/2012 6:13:54 PM
I work from 2:30-8:30 tomorrow and Friday. Other than that, I'm free.

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 6:15:13 PM
I suppose that could work. 9:30 it is. East Peoria Steak n Shake.

449/26/2012 6:16:49 PM
Tomorrow?

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 6:19:19 PM
Yes. I will be the devastatingly handsome guy. Heads up though. I shaved off my beard yesterday.

449/26/2012 6:27:04 PM
Sounds good. Well I'll be the one in the wheelchair if you didn't figure this out yet.

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 7:22:13 PM
I thought you were gonna be the slutty girl dancing on the counter top. Talk about a let down.

449/26/2012 7:31:02 PM
Only if there's Bailey's in the coffee...

PerceptionTheNight9/26/2012 7:36:46 PM
Bawhahahaha. That could be arranged. Though I am not sure steak and shake would take to kindly to that.

449/26/2012 7:39:13 PM
I'm disabled. I can make it work!

It was alright. Shit was too lengthy for my taste but if you made it work then you win...
