You're a bit biased there. Just because it doesn't work for you or you don't have what it take or patient enough to harvest results doesn't mean it will not work for everybody else. I've seen countless guys getting 2-3 laids a week from online dating, I have gotten quite a lot of success myself from POF and OKC (about 5-6 numbers per week).

If you want to improve at this whole picking up whether it's online or real life, I advise you to get rid of that permissive attitude and rather finding excuses or something to blame for your failures. Go back, figure what you did wrong and learn from other people that have success. There are many helpful topics in this forum for that.

Tell yourself "if he can do it, I can do better" rather than "online dating sucks, it wont work!". You're more upset at yourself than the dilemma of online dating itself. I read the whole post and all I saw were excuses you used to convince yourself to stop trying.

But here's a general idea:

1. Open with a bizarre joke. My most used one is "hey you look just like my this student of mine that I'm not allowed to sleep with. Are you xxx by any chance?"
This always provokes responses whether it's negative or not.

2. Doesn't matter what they respond with, if it's positive, I might play along but normally I ignore it and throw in some positive future projection.
EX: "Bummer, you're not her... thanks for the 10 sec wonderful imaginary memories together...."

3. 90% of them always respond to this, again either negatively or positively. If they play along, I push the future projection further, something only couples would do. If it's negative, I respond with "what? you don't like [another future projection]" and tease them.

4. At this point, if they don't respond, I move on. If they do, I start a silly fight such as fighting over kids name, favorite things, etc... and tell them to send me their number so we can settle it over the phone.

As you see, it's only 4-5 replies max. But I do mass-messaging that to every girl 7 or above HB. This is by far the shortest and most consistent way to number close for me, and have been field-tested. However I do find lot of flakes on date because I didn't spend a lot of time building comfort and rapport with them.

What's the end result? Girls who are 5's & 6's who won't settle for a guy unless he is a 7/8. Then online dating becomes a vicious circle where guys keep giving any non-hideous girl attention and then the women think they deserve more than what they have.

Just to prove that you're being too negative about this whole online dating thing. It does work. This is the amount of replies I received within the last 3 days on POF and OKC, I'm also on 2 other sites so this amount is only half of what I received.

And I'm a typical 8.5 Asian male with bald head, no fancy hair or clothes. If I can pull it off, you guys can definitely have better results than me.

What did your profile actually say? What did you actually write to these girls?

SEVERAL DAYS BACK I tried an experiment a couple of days back where I invented 2 profiles on the same dating site, 1 male and 1 female, for the female profile I uploaded a picture of a hot girl I have on facebook (lol) as the profile picture. After 1 day the inbox for my female profile had 200+ messages After 4 days my male profile had zero messages TONIGHT I checked my profiles again tonight. Now for the males the site does something sneaky and makes fake female robot profiles and these profiles send automated messages to guys, giving the guys a false belief that they are getting somewhere and thus keeping them on the sight paying money. My male profile has zero messages (except female robots) and only 5 views, my female profile has 400+ messages and countless views. It's interesting reading through the messages though and seeing what guys open with online. There is everying from lame "hi's", "how are you?", "what you bin upto", to "hey, I am blah blah blah, message me back If your interested", to "I am going to make you scream and orgasm fountains blah blah blah" to page long essays about how sensual the love making we will e doing is. Its actually kinda strange having hundreds of men telling me how attractive I am and how hot my legs are "to be fair my friends is attractive and does have hot legs" Interesting experiment: If I wanted to I could tell all of these men to meet me at any part of the country as I havent said where I live and they would do it. Its amazing how much power I have been given pretending to be a 9.5 all the worlds AFCs would be better off if online dating didn't exist. They are just websites girls can sign upto to get hundreds of specalised compliments to boost their ego's.[/u][/b]

I posted this else where and below are two very relevant replies to the topic REPLY 1 Yet a girl like her gets 100 messages a day. I wrote in another thread how men get devalued in online dating sites because of this issue. Any girl who is not blatantly ugly gets lifted to HB7 or HB8 status. By virtue of this artificial increase in attractiveness, a guy who is a 7 becomes a 5 in the girl's eyes because of the increased attention. What's the end result? Girls who are 5's & 6's who won't settle for a guy unless he is a 7/8. Then online dating becomes a vicious circle where guys keep giving any non-hideous girl attention and then the women think they deserve more than what they have. So they never settle, they never have realistic expectations and nobody really wins. REPLY 2 It's because the women can pick to the smallest detail what they're looking for. They can edit the criteria to match anything from ethnicity, height, income, etc so let's just say you're 5'9, which is certainly tall enough for most women. and in real life the girl has or would date a guy that height, online if she decides she wants 5'10 and above, you're out of the running. in real life she's not gonna take a tape measure and measure you and say oh sorry, you're 5'9, an inch shorter than i'm looking for...next! but online, she can. i see no harm in setting up a free profile and using it occasionally when you have free time. but it should be a supplement to your game, not the focus. real life should always be the focus. don't put too much stock into online dating BOTTOM LINE: STAY OFF DATING SITES, YOU ARE HARMING YOUR OWN CHANCES

How many messages are you sending out before you number close with an hb? I have been doing this for 4 months now and only been on one date with a girl who basically opened me and threw her number at me no questions. I would say I probably send out 30-40 messages per week as openers and have maybe 2-4 respond if I'm lucky. I will usually build positive/playful rapport with these two hb's for about 9-10 short emails over the course of a week just to end up with them disappearing after asking for the number? I am a descent looking guy also with a creative profile. How do you explain this? I could even post an example.

I had a topic in this forum about how to get better results with online dating and recently I have found a better scripted routine that I send out and usually number close within 4-5 replies. But it was specifically personalized according to my personality. I spend about 1 hour a day to replying messages. Usually I send out mass message to about 50 girls on tuesday bc that is usually their most boring night of the week so they will appreciate the humor of my message more. Monday, they are usually too tired to respond. I also avoid friday, sat and sun. Typically about 30 of them respond, out of those 30 usually 5 is being really bitchy so I next them. You skip Friday, Saturday and Sunday? Interesting. I actually found that the activity goes up on Friday nights and there are quite a few lonely HB's where I live. I live in a very big city. So I will send out a few messages on Friday and be chatting with them the next day usually saturday morning. This has been going on the past few weekends. I will usually ask them if they have any plans for the weekend. They usually respond with "none yet". But it's when I try to number close to fast that creates problems. I will propose that we do something during the weekend and they will say something like its too soon, or I don't want to give out my number. ANYWAYS, you might want to try spending more time on the weekends. This weekend I was actually talking with a model who fly's in and out from Miami to New York but I was messaging another girl at the same time and I ended up trying to close too soon with both. Hopefully I didn't permanently close the door with the model. I will have to try again this week.

NEXT STEP My female profile had a picture of an attractive girl and a fair bit of info in the profile. I have now deleted it and set up a new one with only two things 1) a name: sophie 2) age: 21 There is no profile photo, no location, no info in the profile - nothing. I already have 3 guys who are interested, and I only set it up today. Now I realise that guys send out blocks of messages but that is really stacking it in the favour of the few girls on the sites. In a couple of days I will upload a couple of photo's of one of my friends from facebook and watch how it goes through the roof. NEXT PART ok so I left it with no pic and no info for a while and there was still a steady trickle of people winking and sending messages. Typical 30 out of those 50 reply me, that will last me the whole week. Then I send out a new batch next week, rinse and repeat, sometimes using different openers to test them out. My profile displays a refreshing sense of humor, so when I send them those stuffs, they know not to take my shits too seriously. And I ALWAYS make it very SEXUAL right from the start. If they reply, they already know that I have no intention to be friends or text-buddies. That saves me a lot of time and energy. I wrote this guide awhile ago. Hope it'll help. I got a fair number of responses but the majority of them are "Oh lol...no I'm not" or just "No". How do you deal with such responses?
