imho your profile is not bad at all, or at least what you wrote. What lets it down seriously are the pictures though. I'm going to be blunt, and this will sound horrible but: you look terrible in them. You need to style your hair (either a mowhawk, or shave it), and you need a complete new wardrobe with clothes that fit. Also, your pics aren't terribly exciting... I'd say you need one pic at an exclusive party surrounded by 2 pretty girls. Some of you doing exciting stuff... whatever... rock climbing/bungee jumping... anything cool/funny (I have one of myself surfing in a tie & suit in mine). And, if you have a good bod (you said you like exercising right), don't be afraid of showing your six pack in one... but maybe at the beach, rather than a self-taken shot in the mirror. Recent studies have shown that girls do not consider these types of pics a turnoff ; quite the contrary |

Well for one that is my hair styled. Im not shaving it or getting a mohawk. Second, Im not sure what you mean by "clothes that fit". If youre talking about style wise im willing to listen. If you mean size wise, I am a short and stocky guy. Thats how clothes that fit me look. I am not getting a complete new wardrobe, though. I dont know if you think I am made out of money or what. Also, I live in Milwaukee. Not a lot of "exclusive parties" with pretty girls. I appreciate what you have to say and I do not think you a wrong. I think the changes may be a bit extreme though in some sense.

OK well, this is only another guy's opinion, so feel free to disregard it... I do think what you wrote is fine: it shows good confidence, and it is well written, but it's not terribly eye catching. I would personally drop the whole section on books, films, etc: sometimes less is more, and it adds nothing to your profile. But none of this matters, because the first thing a girl will look at are your pictures... my feeling is: they will never get to read your profile, because the pictures will put them off. OK, let me expand on my original post a little: if you keep these pics, and if you are not willing to do anything about your image, then you really are going to have to work on what you wrote to make it eye catching... easiest way is to sound like a completely over-the-top, arrogant prat, and work your way from there... Girls still probably will not be contacting you first, but at least they might answer your messages in order to find out where the confidence comes from and to tear you down... You can actually recover from there and work your way up (this is the method Neil Strauss used with his online profile). Alternatively (and much easier) is to keep your profile as it is (a confident, but basically decent guy), and improve your image. Ok, what do I mean style-wise? By 'mowhawk, I don't mean a full punk mowhawk, but rather something like this: http://www.cripdes.org/wp-content/uploa ... aircut.jpg By clothes that fit, I mean: fitted shirts, rather than regular ones: shirts that tapper at the waist. The 3 shirst I see you wearing in your profile pics are too big imho. Also, both the black stripy one and the one you wear at the basketball game have horrible designs... I would stick to plain shirts, tappered. White trainers look horrible imo, and I would go for some good quality shoes instead. Have a look at Mark Nason shoes since you're in the States ; you can occasionally find them on sale or, at much reduced price on ebay. light wash jeans are really eighties, and old fashion imo, and I would buy a pair of dark or black jeans if I were you... Something like these: http://uk.7forallmankind.com/en_en/men/ ... ocean.html Finally tshirts: really tight ; much shorter sleeves (or roll them up), and -but this is a matter of personal preference, V-neck OK... here's a gold mine for you: want to have your pic taken at a party with some really cute girls? Google 'the hiroshima opener'... and don't tell too many people about this... Other exciting pics on the cheap? Do you have any friends into photography? get them to do some SPAM portraits (maybe B&W) in front of stunning pieces of architecture... Have some pics of you at the gym... join a boxing or mma club for a couple of classes and have a friend take some pics. try a salsa class, go to a social event, and again, have someone take pics... Shit, online dating will be very very hard if you do not have excellent pics... I can't stress that enough. I hope you find something of help in all this. AJ |
