| Post subject: | How Do You Get A Response? |
I'm wondering how you go about getting a girl on pof to reply. Right now I typically read their profile and respons with something like this. "I read your profile and (stuff we have in common then a joke)." then I ask a Question and tell them to read my profile before they respond So far I've started conversation with about 7 women this way and the only two who responded to me are the ones who showed that they wanted to meet me before I did this. So, I'm still new to online dating. How do you open a new female on POF? What do you say? Should it be sexual or not? |

Are you doing IM's or emails? your format is pretty bad if that's email, you arnt gonna have much luck with that. there are a few things. 1. make sure your profile and pictures are great, you need to stick out, an average (80% of profiles) will get 20% of responses, while the 20% of great, funny, witty, creative profiles will get 80% of all responses. 2. Know how to write a good non-generic email. Your email format here is boring. David M has some great email tips. BravoPUA has a great video on youtube. and Net2Bed has some great profile writing guidance. Check out jsmooth on his forum here and get your shit together. |

I'm no expert at openers but I know starting with "I read your profile" sounds boring and is unnecessary. You already put something in it showing you read it which they seem to like. Also boring is puting "read my profile". They will read it because they are interested not because you suggest it. Asking a question is good though. Makes it easy for them to respond if they are interested. |

this is good adviceAlso when you ask questions in your email, try to make them funny and/or challenging but relevant. I like her to qualify herself as much as is viable on an initial interaction. If you cant set the "decider" frame at least make sure you arnt setting the "supplicating" frame as most guys do. |

Thanks for your replies. I watched a video on youtube that said you should read their profile, mention it then ask them a Question and tell them to read your profile before responding. I guess that was probably bad advice. Quote: Are you doing IM's or emails?
Thanks, I got some videos to watch.

this actually sounds like decent advice. I doubt this is your problem point.

When you walk past the news stand, what are some of the types of headlines that grab your attention? Besides your picture, your subject line will play a big part in whether she even opens up your message to read it, or simply checks off a bunch of the other mundane sounding messages and hits delete. I think that your headline should be a bit crazy/goofy/funny/shocking...ANYTHING that would be an attention grabber (in a non-negative way) will suffice. If it's unique, she's more inclined to find out what's inside (the message, that is). For the content simply pick something in her profile (an observation on her photo if she has very little else to comment on). Honestly, I've said some pretty outlandish stuff, just random out-of-the-blue type shit and it's gotten some good results, depending on the girl of course. Have fun, don't take it too seriously once you do all your creativity escapes out the window and you seize up and end up here asking 2 dozen dudes on what to say. |
