Post subject:  proper response to Winks at Match.com?

Ive used OKcupid to good results. I got off the web and now Im back on trying match.com. Lots of hot chicks on here, but more relationship type chicks then OKC.

So anyway OKC you can pretty much ignore the whole wink thing, at match.com they use them like crazy. So how do you respond properly to a wink?

1. Wink back and wait?
2. Send short email say "hi, don't be shy, introduce yourself..."?
3. Email a standard profile response as if you initiated the convo?

Anyone with a lot of wink experience know the best way to handle this. So far my success rate on Match seems way worse then OKC btw.

thanks for any help with this topic or general match tidbits.

Don't wink back just send a message. Why wait for the extra step just go ahead and message her starting a convo.

I usually just send a email telling them that mail works better than winking for getting to know someone.

ok thanks for the advice, ill continue to do what i'm doing then and hope for more responses.

As a side notes i see half of the winks are from out of state accounts (likely fake), or non-paying members who are probably spam winking. So far Match sucks

Yeah, out of state is usually fake. I got one real one from a chick 2000 miles away who was traveling on business...

I will say that if I write back (somewhat rare since most hot chicks don't wink), I am more of #3. I don't even acknowledge the wink or anything. We all know why we're on there...so full steam ahead. Always works fine that way for me in terms of a response.

Thanks Tek ill try number#3 i've been doing more #2 with poor results. Im interested in what you find especially effective on Match. I'm finding im having better luck sending short emails negging my target and breaking rapport while under the frame of being interested, which as you said is implicit in my emailing the target in the first place.

Ive used some to the great attention grabbers I found on the forum to get noticed and my email read, unfortunate this leads to a lot of chicks writing me back with snarky non-interested responses, which are just as useless as no-responses. But still an improvement!

Yeah man I'm speaking specifically about match here. My advice is just a longwinded version of Smooth's.

When I joined, I didn't give the whole thing much thought. So when I got a wink, I kind of treated it like 'i have this one on lock!'. I would respond with stuff like 'don't be shy', 'introduce yourself why don't you', etc. And then I became mystified as to why this chick just winked at me and never responded back. My conclusion: it came across as try-hard.

They need plausible deniability. In my experience, opening as usual, like you're starting from scratch, allows for this. I will almost always get a response from the girls who send these using this approach. After that it was easy as hell meeting them. Too bad they were mostly bat shit crazy...but that's another thread...;)

I'd use a small neg.

Do you always wink and run? It's okay, I like shy girls.
