| Post subject: | YES or NO Mindset |
Hey guys, So here's a handy mindset to try and get into. I've been trying to help a friend of mine get out there and sarge. He's on his own in a new city, which is perfect cos nobody knows you enough to be warned you know what you're doing. Only he doesn't so I'm trying to give him some pointers. Main thing is Approach Anxiety. He's terrified of just starting to talk. I notice this in a lot of guys I know non-PUAs. This is good for us because it means less competition. So here's my mindset I think will help you if you're like my friend. EVERYTHING in life comes down to YES or NO. There is no grey area. MAYBE is NO because it's not YES. Example- I want to talk to that HB9. Either YES I do it or NO I don't. Either YES we get along or NO we don't. It's that simple. Just like if you run out of milk and go to the store and it's late either YES they'll be open or NO they won't. Once you realize this, it takes the anxiety and drama out of all approaches. And if you don't gel or she's a bitch or has no personality then BE HAPPY cos you just found out everything you need to know about that chick and don't have to spend time or money on her. It's YES or NO. Y'know, just like the morning after- YES she gave me an STD or I wrapped up double so NO she didn't... |

Yes--and No. EVERYTHING in life comes down to YES or NO. There is no grey area. MAYBE is NO because it's not YES. Yes, it all comes down to yes or no. No, you can't always see the end game from the first no, or first yes. In principle your attitude is golden, but the "gray area" is in how much patience do you have for the number of yeses you have to get to get from point A to point Goal? It can look gray and murky if you lose focus. Personally, it depends on my mood. If I am gaming and just enjoying the game, I might be willing to play for hours--not days, not weeks, but hours, sure--if I'm in a more direct mood, then point Goal has to be closer to point A, and I use a direct approach. Doesn't mean it will work, but as you say, the only question I have to ask myself is yes or no? But I still have to decide Yes, direct; or Yes, playful and indirect. Every Yes implies a plethora of negations, of adumbrated possibilities, of an edited reality. As Zach Scott put it: "The only things you will later live to regret are the things you didn't do." Yes. |
