Ok, so i met a girl online (she initiated contact btw), had a few IM chats, traded phone numbers, got a first date setup, met her and here's the result:

"Got this e-mail a few weeks after our first meetup, she had mentioned that she would be busy with studies/exam during that time so no surprise there. In any case, was contacting other girls in the meantime.
Should I take the following as a lost cause and move on or maybe a chance to climb out of the friend zone? I am a shy person by nature, maybe I did not give out my intentions well, etc.?
