A good way to mimimize social shyness and AA is speaking in front of mirror. Pay attention to projecting ur voice. U want to be sound like some one that is listened to all the time. Be confident in wat u say. Just talk loud in front of the mirror. It helps a lot. When shy people talk, u can just tell that they were always ignored , cos they dont speak with that oomph Saying hi to strangers would be a start to prevent AA. Moving step further each time. Never depend on Alcohol, i used to do and it will never improve ur game or u will always need a couple of coranas and Vodka in ur sarging gear all the time Body language is also a key. For eg When u go on a social gathering, u can always tell the guys that are not comfortable just from their body language. Always stand straight. Be aware of ur body language and think if this is a way a person with authority who have nothing to fear would stand or sit ..whatever its 3.00 am and i am really tired. So i dont know if it makes any sense. So to conclude... Practise in front of mirror > Especially voice> Say hi to strangers and be friendly> Pay attention to ur body language.. By following these things u will be more confident naturally. Try to do this for the next 2 weeks starting from 2day Don_k |

These are practical steps, the same stuff you can find any almost any material out there pertaining to this community. As much as i commend you for your efforts, and would love to see them continue, keep in mind that what i say is not to discourage you. The majority of the people out there, that are awkward in social situations, are so because of beliefs they have about themselves that usually are not true, called limited beliefs or as i sometimes call them, limiting factors. Anxiety in social situations can never be cured, the experience of it can be decreased or channeled more productively but never cured. Body language for example, unless your confident with who you are as a person, your body will always give away your not truly confident. Once you become confident as a person, then these steps play a part in overcoming social awkwardness. |

D.C said "Anxiety in social situations can never be cured" What utter crap! I work with guys day in day out on social anxiety and related issues. I am a hypnotherapist and change worker and social anxiety is something that can be fixed and easily. Social anxiety is simply a reaction in the brain to certain circumstances. Once you actually work out what is causing this fear, it can easily be turned off and changed. I get emails from guys asking me how they can get over approach anxiety every day so I have recorded an interview abut confidence which I am currently editing. Ask yourself this question. What does approach anxiety allow you to avoid and what does it allow you to keep feeling? The brain is lazy, it is designed to be as effecient as possible. Therefore it does not want to think, it only wants to react. Social anxiety is simply a brain reaction that can be very simply altered. When you have the right tools i.e. PUA Training stuff, and someone who knows a lot of about approach anxiety i.e. me, then the world becomes a very different place. Will post the link up here ASAP. Matt Fear is a hardwired response, people fear the unknown. that causes anxiety, the question is on what level do you fear the approach. Certainly you can change it, that anxiety can be channeled to be the tool used to propel the approach instead of walk away from it. The more you approach the less it goes away, the less its noticed, but its still there on some level, its not a disease, you cant cure it. |
