I don't really feel shy around people. I have no problem doing crazy shit when I'm with people I don't know. I just absolutely SUCK at talking to people lately. I just can't seem to find anything to talk about. I used to not have the problem, I suppose it might be a symptom of my depression. I just feel like there has to be a way to work on this. Once I get a conversation going I can tend to keep it up well for a little while. I tend to make people laugh so hard they cry when I talk to them and then right after that I try to talk to someone else because I'm pretty much only good at situational humor and once the funny situation has been pointed out I got shit to go with from there. Can anyone give me some tips? |

Hey cuberth welcome! Why not move over to everyone's favorite topic: them self? You can learn openers, opinion pieces, etc,. But depending upon the context ask them stuff about them self. And then if its a chick, use your natural humor to "spin" what they say, so you both get a chuckle. Also, what are you doing to work on your depression? Anxiety like depression have to be DAILY "exercised". Feel free to PM me for some free websites, information I know. No matter what ... don't be too hard on yourself, make the world less about _you_ and more about others and how you can experience and learn from everything. All the best! |

Also your statement, "I never know what to say" is a little irrational .. and can become self fulfilling. Are you saying 100% of the time you never know what to say, no matter the person, situation, or time of day? |
