Post subject:  Very important revelation for those with social anxiety ...

Initially I was asking field type questions: Like, how do i handle AMOG tests? Cshadyp rightly pointed out that those were surfacey questions that I'm not ready to tackle, so I've modified this post so others, like me that struggle with very low self esteem+social anxiety disorder can work on their fundamental issues first:

First of all, your questions do not apply at this point. They are all surface level shit. Trust me, I've been there.

You have to first start building your self-esteem. -cshadyp
I HAD to login and reply to this message and give you major kudos. You were spot on because YOU HAVE BEEN THERE. Thank You.

I wrote this topic about a month ago and since then I have had two major revelations:

1) Social anxiety is a symptom of an underlying cause: Low Self Esteem. Low self esteem is a thought disorder that develops in early childhood. The only way to raise self esteem is through a lot of hard work. But the end goal shouldn't be to 'overcome' low self esteem, instead, it should be to recover from it.

2) Pickup is IMPOSSIBLE until basic fundamental issues are resolved. By fundamental I mean self esteem has to be raised to a healthy, functional level .

So, for anyone dealing with social anxiety and very low self esteem, follow the advice of cshadyp and others. Focus on your low self esteem, see that as the problem, and work your *ss off like your life depends on it, because it does!

Also, I do not believe that people suffering from social anxiety disorder /low self esteem can adequately resolve their issues through self help alone. Therapy is vital. The pickup community can give people tips on raising confidence and handling social situations, but no video/audio tape series alone will compare to a competent and effective therapist.
I want to emphasize something that is CRUCIAL. Over the last SEVERAL years I have been trying to fix my symptoms rather than the root cause of my symptoms. I have tried religion, CBT, REBT, flower essences, working out, higher level education, positive talk, etc,. etc,. And I have made very little progress.

It is simply insufficient to work on social anxiety alone. Social anxiety is caused by an inferiority complex. This inferiority complex is caused by low self esteem, low self esteem was developed long ago when we were kids. Most likely from critical and controlling parents. How do we expect to work through a thought disorder that developed years ago by focusing on the symptoms instead of the causes? And how do we expect to work on our own 'sick mind' without outside objective guidance? It is beyond me why I didn't understand this before? I hope those that are struggling with low self esteem and social anxiety will seek SPAM from a therapist who truly understands how to treat someone with low self esteem and through this work (that WILL TAKE time) you will start to like you and by extension WOMEN WILL LIKE YOU. And then, you truly will have a life.

You have to first start building your self-esteem. Wake up, look in the mirror every morning and say "I am a leader! I am fucking awesome! I am dominant, assertive, confident", etc. Say it with enthusiasm...like you mean it. Do this every day and it will change you. Second, meditate daily at least for 15 minutes. I swear these two things will be all you need to take control of your mind.

Also, buy the book The Sedona Method or buy the basic home study course. These really helped me. -cshadyp

also you can try yoga instead of pure meditation.... it's easier to get into a meditation state.

i agree on the sedona method... it's so simple yet so effective.

how about self-hypnosis? There are some self-esteem programs and one that I'm doing right now. I'll tell you how it goes.
