As dumb as a question as this sounds, I will ask it. For I need to the question answered for me personally. Is The Game by Niel Strauss worth reading? Why? Why not? (if there is a reason not to) |

Yeah, it's worth reading. It is an interesting story in its own right and for many of was our introduction to the game. Don't take it all too literally. Buying girls coffee is not a big deal. Wearing a pink cowboy hat is not a good idea. Using canned routines isn't a great approach for all but the terminally socially clueless. The book is not a bible. That said, it is still pretty much an essential purchase, even though PUA theory has moved on a lot since it was written. |

I didn't finish the book. Half way through the book, I realized he was too routined and it doesn't suit my personality so I started doing research on google instead. However, it gives you a good foundation about PUA concept. But don't make a mistake which a lot of AFC do: trying to be someone else. PUA is more of a guideline to improve and become a better version YOURSELF. Not a tool for you to become Neil or Mystery junior. And I don't believe in fake it until you make it. Yea it works, but once you made it, you can't keep it because your true self starts to reveal, your inner game isn't strong enough to back up all that you made yourself out to be. I believe in DO it until you BECOME it. |

It's a fantastic book, but it's more about how the community was created and what happened, not so much a PUA manual. Which is part of the appeal, to me! |

I read it once and I am reading it again. I am also reading "The Rules of the Game" by Strauss as well. Personally, it is one of the most influential books I have read. It has a lot of stuff you can take from it, at the very least it will help you at a subconscious level. It will improve your confidence, in my opinion, just having read it. It shows you that with work, you can become a top PUA. At the very least you will find it to be a great story, it is hilarious all the way through. Buy it. It's worth it. |

I must say it is an awesome read. You can gain a lot from it - it is quite routined but some of the content i have actually tried and it works. A real confident booster. I highly recommend it. |

You may get a lot of combined support for this book--as well as a lot of rant for even asking this question lol An example of combined support comes from TrueFlame, who speaks the truth... except for the pink cowboy hat. A lot of what he says is truth, except I'm a fan of the pink cowboy hat, lol (you'll find that doing outrageous shit gets you more wutang than pussy-ass shit). (Edit: fishnwomen speaks the truth, and Mystery Style's username is based on the two main characters of the book lol--more support For my support with buying the book, it may be useful for you to know that I downloaded the book illegally... and then bought it, along with Rules of the Game (by the same author), a month later. And if something makes you want to buy it--after you already read it--would you agree that it's worth a read? Let me know if this helps, Kyle. Aaron Quote: Yeah, it's worth reading.
