"Most approach anxiety is a result of imagined rejections, not real ones." For anyone suffering AA it's important to notice how your mind is the one playing the trick. 95% of the time rejection exists in your mind, not in the real world and far more importantly every time you get rejected your body feels a small tension relief. The key tactic is to magnify this tension relief to alter your natural behavior, creating a pattern in which the tension relief produced by approaching (even if you get rejected) is a far more better feeling than the anxiety of approaching. By priming yourself to this concept, the tension relief of approaching can be the first forward step in getting reed of AA. |
