Just a quick thread, I've been invited to a party from a girl in my class. She's reasonably attractive but I wouldn't think of gaming her, we're just friends, and I'd like it to stay that way. In fact I'd rather not game anyone at this party, so why the hell am I on a Pickup forum, you ask? Well, if I decide to go, this would be my 2nd party, the first was thoroughly miserable and boring, nothing but drunk teenage girls grinding up against others. This may seem like a dream come true, but trust me, it's really not. This party may or may not be similar, it's going to be supervised in a house, but people will be pre-drinking to a degree, there'll be food, music and a LOT of people I know.

Some information about me, i'm very socially detached from these guests, although I see them at school everyday. This could be my chance to break some ice and make a few contacts I'm quite nervous though...

This is the question, how do you interact at house parties, what should I do, how should I behave, dress, act etc? How do YOU ENJOY yourself at these events? I'm looking for a strategy to have a GOOD TIME and MAKE FRIENDS, not hookup with a girl. I'd be doubtful about going in the first place, but regret would sure come thick and fast when i'm sitting alone at home. One important point: I'm NOT gonna be drunk/ drinking, so it's all me baby! Socially awkward me...
