Did you guys have memorable moments when you got your courage and up and just acted in spite of your shyness? Were any so powerful that they stick out in your life history to you? I still remember a few times way back as a kid when I wanted to talk to someone and forced myself through the fear. Even when it didn't turn out as well as I'd like, I was proud of myself in the long run. |

A few months ago I had my first real breakthrough with shyness. I just went around campus walking and saying hello to people. Literally that was all i did "Hi.", "Hello.". I didn't even say it to girls, I just found a less traveled walkway on campus and every minute or so i'd pass someone and do it. My body was tingling afterwards with positive energy. I'm sure if one of my friends could've seen me after they would've noticed a change as well. I haven't really done anything like this since, sadly. So thats the only time i've really felt like i was on cloud 9. |

Natural, I've read that some studies show being social changes our hormones somewhat. So possibly doing what you did really does give you a bit of a natural high or something. It may be that if you do this regularly enough, people can pick up on the state you're in and it influences the interaction. |

I gave an introduction for a talk in front of 180 people and I was my brother's best man at his wedding so I gave a speech (without cue cards) to 200 guests. I need to remind myself of those two events more often! |

Going back and reliving those successes in your mind can be very helpful in boosting your confidence back up at times you need it.
I need to remind myself of those two events more often! |
