I'm a naturally introverted guy. I find it weird to start talking to a stranger about the weather or whatever the hell is around us, even though I know it's just small talk and they probably dont think it's weird. When I do start talking to people it's usually after several minutes of contemplation "should i say this?" "will he/she even respond?". I don't get scared or anything, I would just almost always rather be in my own thoughts, which is a horrible mentality for pick up! Normally I'd like to start conversations with girls before/in class that I think would be cool but it never really happens because I always wait for the perfect opportunity to talk to where not even I think it's weird (which doesn't happen often). I know that I should always keep trying to go out of my comfort zone and slowly my comfort zone wont be so small. However, I feel like I always forget. When I'm walking around my campus, it's just not the first thing on my mind. One day I remember it was and after 3 or so approaches (not just girls) I felt great about myself. However, I always feel like im worrying about different things, even though every night I come back to this forum and desperately try to get better. I don't get it... I want it badly, but I never really think about it, makes no sense! |

This is AA. You might not think you feel any "fear" but this is AA. Search your feelings. You know it to be true. If I'm wrong you have an psychological illness that makes you uncomfortable speaking to people you are comfortable with. This is a contradiction because you are not feeling uncomfortable speaking with close friends. Feeling uncomfortable when speaking with strangers, even though you say you are both comfortable and not comfortable speaking when with strangers, is AA. comfortable, comfortable, comfortable, comfortable. Go do the newbie mission and read some AFC journals. comfortable, comfortable, comfortable, comfortable. |
