The newest Family Guy episode features a storyline where Brian gets into Quagmire's class to get women, and even though they don't call it that, but it's obviously the parody of the PUA community. Don't expect much, but it's worth checking out: http://www.watch-familyguy-online.com/W ... r_Two.html |

I was really glad that they got a lot of the methods wrong. Quagmire came across as a douche and he pretty much just acted like a dick to the girls. Of course that's not how it's done. They used a few terms like peacocking, but not too much. I was worried too much would be revealed and the whole pua scene would become known by all. I'm just starting to learn and I don't want the scene to get oversaturated while I'm just started. I'll eventually develop my own openers, but for now I need to memorize canned openers until I get more comfortable. As far as I can tell the average person still not aware of the pua scene. If they do here about it they'll probably just assume the whole thing is silly and that a pua would be easily spotted. But if done properly that would not happen. |

Yeah, they got it quite wrong. Parts like when Quagmire said "I'm not teaching you how to find love, I'm teaching you how to get laid!" but the most wrong part was "I don't want to be their boyfriend, I want to be their mistake in the next morning!" I'm glad though that the whole thing was pretty misleading for those who don't know about the real thing or don't even realize that this is an existing thing and take it as a novel concept, but some people may get curious about such dating coaching and google it, helping them to find help and improve their lives. The balance is pretty okay, if you think about it, in my opinion. Even though it's not a very good episode (Family Guy as a whole started rolling down the hill around the 7th season, imo) I still think it's worth checking out. |

Wow, I feel like a dork. I thought this was one of the better episodes the show has had since it originally went off the air. |

Yeah, this is actually one of the better episodes lately - Which kind shows how much the quality dropped in the last few seasons, imho. |

im assuming they got it wrong on purpose. it would be less funny if quagmire was looking for love. considering i read about pua communities in a number of magazines, i think its safe to say that its no longer an underground thing. |
