Post subject:  Anyone know about watches?

I'm looking to buy a watch but can't find the right one. I'm looking to spend <$500, ideally around $200. I really like the invicta 7207 below but don't want a windup. I would like an analog watch with a steel band that is flashy but not over the top.

Anyone got any suggestions? What are you guys wearing these days?

I am as selective about watches as women; which explains why I have three.
I have the following:

1x Silver D&G with navy face: goes well with most colours, and navy suits, brown suits.
1xSquare Hugo Boss, Black simliar to Christian Bales from SPAM but not $3000+

1xOmega Seamaster: James Bond Watch: Most practical watch, looks expensive so can be worn out, can get soaked, I have smashed the front so many times and no scratches.

What use do you expect from it?I do not see the need to spend about $500 for one only for you to wear it for good occasions in fear of ruining it.

I want to get a watch I can wear everyday. I'm in college and try to dress nicely with like a polo or a nicer t-shirt. I'm open to suggestions. I guess I'm looking to spend around $150, but if its a good buy I'd spend as much as $500.

I appreciate the help man. It seems you really know your watches.

I just found this and this explains a lot about the types and will help narrow down your search.

I know little about watches, hence why most of my collection is from films, and the watch looks good.

I would recommend:

-Colour: Silver (goes with most colours, can not stand gold)
Analog/digital watches: As article says practical for all occasions.
-Quartz: accurate, and won't need to replace battery all the time, Mechanical and just expensive and unless your into collecting etc they will burn a hole in your wallet.
-Steel or titanium: As you will be wearing it all the time, and will get less scratches, and chance of damaging the watch.
-I would opt for a bracelet or metal strap, as getting a leather strap drenched in beer, rain etc.
