| Post subject: | Me and my friends are addicted to alcohol |
Hey guys, It's pretty late and after this shitty night I realized something and need to ask for your help. My friends and I are addicted to alcohol. I'm sure that we, or at least I, could stay sober for the end of this year, but what I'm referring to is going to clubs or parties. Basically every weekend. What the alcohol does to us is far from funny. I drink to get myself into "state" or a great mood, not concerning what others think of me. Also it helps staying in the moment and it stops the inner monologue. The downsides of it are this: It costs money, when consuming it at this mass it's not good for my body; as well as my best friend losing total control over his actions, leading him and myself into amog wars and situations where he bumps into dudes because he's "alpha". I don't want to depend on alcohol anymore, it's rediculous (Mod Edit: http://how-to-spell-ridiculous.com/ ) when I see people approaching sober (I mainly dance but I don't want it for this either). I can't stand my best friend drinking, I can't stand me needing to get trashed to not be paralyzed with fear and I can't stand people who say alcohol is necessary or good for going out. Can anyone tell me how to lessen the consumation of alcohol in order to get 1) indifferent to the outcome, 2) get over most of the fear and 3) feel cut off from the vibe of the drunk enviroment? Thank you, Pulsebeat |

1) To become indifferent to the out come you need to understand yourself, know your self worth and know that whether you get blown out of the water or not your friends and the rest of your life will remain the same, realise PU is just a hobby and not the be all end all of life. Also as you get blown out of the water more and meet more women and more sucess you wont care about the few that get away. 2)Bite the bullet and go for it, also dont take out enough money to get hammered when you go out. 3) If you get close to a girl you won't be drawn to the drunk enviroment, also just exert some willpower over it. Allow yourself to get hammered 1 out of 3 weekends to blow of so me steaqm hope this helps |

Its kind of like the reason why some people say in field reports and such that sometimes they were going to a party or club to sarge and other times they were just going to party. It's two different mindsets and even though they may overlap when you plan on going to a party or club to sarge you learn to view everything as either advantages or disadvantages to your game and your not as concerned with neccesarily the party SPAM as much. |

I was a former alcohol addict, and actually figured out a way to get rid of the addiction gradually. It worked for me, so I'll share it. When you crave something - anything - be it alcohol, drugs, etc. etc. you are putting your mind at the level of your body's craving; your subconscious basically. When you feel the pangs of craving, best thing to do is to start OBSERVING it, not experiencing it. Bring your mind at the level of your brain and not your body, and that way you won't put yourself through experiencing what your body craves. Become AWARE of it. So when your body craves the addiction, your attitude should be: "Hmmm, okay, my tongue is reacting... my stomach... my *insert your own body part*... That's interesting. I will let it continue to see if it will die out on its own." I challenge you to feel any craving afterwards btw take it slow and easy, but DO take it. Its important and you can't continue like this forever. Thats not to say you can't have alcohol anymore (i go for the dry red variety which in moderation is pretty healthy) but you need to set the rules for your body to follow unconditionally. |

wow, guys thank you very much for your sympathies. Honestly, every reply helped me and Tichondrius, I could see an element of eastern philosophy in there, is that right? Anyways, I think the next phases I will encounter will be like this: I'll lessen the alcohol consumation more and more for the next weekends until I don't need to drink my fear or whatever away. That way it will also be more fun to enjoy some drinks because it's for the sake of the taste and fun Thanks for your support Pulsebeat |

First of all, bring less money. I've had that problem too, think of how ridiculous it may come over to girls. (What I tried in the beginning : drink 1 , approach 1 , drink 1 , approach 2) |

I like alcohol (well, I live in Central - Eastern Europe, here everyone is familiar with drinking huge amounts of alcohol), but I consider it not to be a problem, till the time: 1) I don't remember what I did yesterday, 2) Instead of bringing me in good mood, alcohol makes me withdraw from pick-up in order not to be ridiculous, 3) I can't imagine fun without it. I don't see any reason not to drink some time - up to 4 beers a single day as for me for example. Of course, it would make me fat, so I run 40 kilometres a week. Just use it as you like to drink, but don't use it as a main of seducing women. |
