So I have a new job in sales and I need to do a lot of lunches with Doctors. My problem is how do I engage in conversation with these people? I am just out of college and for the most part these doctors are going to be much older. I am very knowledgeable on my product but these guys know a lot more about medicine than I do. So, what sorts of tricks and tips would you all have for some one like me? |

hey Omaga, here in Holland, a week or two ago, one of our most treasured and most succesful entrepreneurs passed away. They showed something from the news archives: Journalist: whats the secret of your succes? Entrepreneur: keep your eyes open, your ears open. Your mouth shut, and your hands in motion. Perhaps that'll do something for ya. Good luck with the new job! If I need some medical advice... you owe me. greetz Buccaneer |

I agree with Buc. Don't try to speak on things you don't know. You will lose credibility and look foolish. They are smart guys and understand you don't have a Phd in medicine; they get it. Just do your best to learn from them. They will be engaged and happy to answer any questions you may have, as long as you are sincere in your questioning. This is an awesome opportunity to LEARN cool doctor shit. Basically, if there is something you have a question on, don't shake your head like you know what their talking about. Ask them. That way the next time it comes up, you CAN shake your head like you know what their talking about. Heres a trick, people tend to look smarter when they actually are smarter |

Try to find common interests... They might be old, but that doesn't mean they're dead. They probably like music, movies, sports, stuff like that. They'll probably enjoy more 'mature' activities like golf or fishing, but you can relate to some of that I'd imagine. |
