When I was younger, I used to screw with telemarketers that called my house by saying weird shit to them and asking them to hold and made them hold for a long time before I hung up.

Telemarketers are people, too! They're just trying to make the money and run the rat race to get by. I feel guilty. :cry:

And I feel even more guilty because I think back to the times when I screwed with those telemarketers and I still chuckle inside my head because I still think it's kinda funny. lolz.

Totally miscellaneous, by the way.

I'm only 17yrs old, and some telemarketer tried to sell me something one.

_Chief_, I don't give a shit :D . I fuck 'em all up, so I went on about that I'm due to Swedish law not authorized to sign contracts etc.

I love that silence I got...

I still do it :) notice 9/10 times they start the convo by asking "hello sir, how are you today?" at which point i start crying and telling them i had the most awful day of my life. Needless to say they hang up rather quickly :lol:

I'm sure some are used to it.

I'm willing to bet some love it. Imagine sitting in a cubicle all day making phone calls. That would get real boring, real fast.

I did a job similar to telemarketing (it wasn't cold calling) and had some really funny responses; personally it made my day when people started doing crazy stuff on the phone so don't feel guilty! :D

Reminds me of the time I called 911 to commend them for doing such a good job in the city...got a call back warning me to consider who I might have blocked out with that call.

i worked at a place where we take orders over the phone (for pizza).
the only time i enjoyed it was when i had phone calls like that. prank ones were good coz i would fuck with them, then after a while tell them how much credit they are spending lol. people like u make a boring job fun.

I had a friend who was a telemarketer. They tell them that if they reach an answering machine to hang up, but he would leave messages in character voices. :lol:

My first job ever was telemarketing. I would have loved to get a prankster or someone with a sense of humor. Man the days are long when you're cold calling, it's like fishing in polluted water; even if you catch something you probably don't want it. :wink:
