Post subject:  How to pick up ... a job

Hi every one,

I know that my request will be sound weird but I was wondering : is there any books or tips that explain how to get a job ? When I say job, I'm not talking about waiter or seller at Gap, I mean real work for Nasdac company, luxury industry, Advertising or Media group, stuff like that.

I mean it seems to me that there are some commun points between flirting with a hot babe and sending your resume to a big company.

I'm not talking about the meeting you could have with the HR, I mean what's the best : online job application or spontaneous application?

If you have any tips or idea, I'm really open to any comment :)

I don't think there are many similarities between a job application and picking up a woman. Possibly for an interview you can transfer some skills about body language and confidence, that sort of thing. However, in my opinion, an application for those sorts of 'professional' jobs is all about research. Show that you have researched what it is the firm do, what it is the firm would expect of you in your role, and then show it in the application. If the firm makes a big deal about their community work and their relationships with clients, when you're going through the application form, try to answer questions with that in mind; show them that you too are a friendly, welcoming person and would fit in with their culture.

Let's face it, the academic qualifications are much of a muchness to be honest. Plenty of people will be qualified enough for most job roles you go for. So what the application and competency question type things are looking for is for you to show them not only that you are good enough for the job (through academics/experience etc.) but also that you're the right person for the firm.

What I'm trying to say is : is there any good tips for a resume or cover letter (i'm working in the marketing field as a junior).

I want to understand why some people find more easily a work than some others, sometimes with a less graduate degree, less experience, for a job you applied.

I'm talking about the interview, but how to proceed before the interview : is it better to call the human ressources ? is is better to do a spontaneous application or apply for a typical job ?

That's why I said 'pick up a job'.

If u want an evil bovine master ( a job) brings such...
Then do it the afc... But add in the Confident way!

Anything is good as long as its bold/ confident... In the marketing field? What state are you in? I own a mobile marketing company...could always use more employees, hard to find guys or girls with the confidence a Pua has...

If you are in New Jersey or New York send me a pm...( must be a legal US resident).
As for job applications...don't start at the bottom of the dumb totom pole. Don't ask for some opening position unless that is what you really want. You know what I tell people? "you are 18... Go to McD. And ask for a management position... Be energetic...and DEAD serious about it And you'll get it."

Not rocket science too much... As a marketing field job...if you can literally approach 100 women in a mall without hesitation you're ahead of all my salesman... And will make more than any of them will in a lifetime. That is what Pua skills can do for a marketing/sales student.

Good luck buddy! Pm me if you are in nj or ny have a meeting of 20 or so new salesman next week, to see who'll make the cut. Pay is great, and if you like to talk, you can so well.

The best way to find out what kind of job you want is to do a few things.

First, brainstorm. Brainstorming is an awesome way to get ideas and weed them out.

Secondly do a little research and find out what works best for you.

And finally, talk to a career counselor or and educational adviser and find out what fields are practical and fit your talents.

Once you pick a career, the most important thing is to stick with the path necessary to reach your career goals, unless you absolutely hate it, stick to it.

Btw, a "real job" is called a career. And what you want is a "career". Different careers have different benefits and challenges. Choose wisely.
