I had enuff tonight. A very good friend of 10 yrs and we've never had conflict but over the past 5-6 wks his occasional small negative comments have combined to piss me off. So I blasted him via txt. He's still my friend but in the fuckin doghouse as far as Im concerned.

The annoying bits I remember are (forgotten the specifics of another, say, 2 instances):

* I show him a pic of a HB7.5 i scored a month ago - he bags her out which I took personally coz I like her (still keep in touch a little). My mate's ex GF who he recently broke up with is about a HB6 but I resisted the urge to remark how ordinary she was - I cant go there, they still hang.

* Another night me and 5 fellas go out, I am the best dressed by miles (smart slacks, great long-sleeve shirt, smart belt, great new shoes) and he reckons belt looks crap and I should untuck shirt. He made another minor negative comment that night. I could have blasted him for the safe plainness of his clothes but that would have poisoned things even worse.

* Friday night we go out and Im wearing my brand new $350 silver chain with Tiger eye quartz pendant and he runs some lame line about him being able to buy the same one in Peru for $10. And that night he was dressed very very averagely. I shut my mouth coz he doesnt have the balls to wear any jewellery and I dont want to sour the evening coz such things can escalate.

* Oktoberfest several weeks ago I picked up a girl (f-closed it too) and her friends took us home. I bought a nice stein glass that night and he ended up with it, refuses to give it back (coz he's jealous)

My point?

If youre gonna voice a negative opinion do it diplomatically. Wingmen are there to massage each other's egos and keep sniping to a friendly minimum.

The bottom line in all this jealousy. I earn almost double him. Have laid more than him. Share a cooler apartment with a HB8, he shares with 2 HB6s. My car is better and acquired new, his is ok but 2nd hand. I always win golf...etc, etc. Im the alpha of our group.

Im over it.

Your wing shouldn't snipe neg you in public at all. My wings and I will never say anything about the way we look until after we sarge. The last thing you need in your mind before you go out is that, something you're wearing could be improved upon. I don't want to screw up my wings headspace. I'll make a note and say something at the end of the night or later. I hope he doesn't DLV you when you're working a set!

This is your fault. You need to establish that you are the alpha of your set, and that you don't put up with this bullshit from anyone. Playground rules baby...I used to have this with my circle of friends in high school. Not to say you beat them up (I could in HS because I was on the football team), but you call them out on it and you AMOG them like hell and make sure you set an example for future references.

Now that doesn't mean you can't swap the bull and joke around and shit, but you've got to be clear that when you go out sarging your friend acting as wing cannot put negative thoughts into your head.

I really don't like how you just "shut your mouth coz" to delay the inevitable blowup, that just shows YOU ARE WEAK and will let him get away with that shit over and over. So why shouldn't he? He'll make himself look better, get more confidence for the night, and it's great practice. So assuming it's his fault and that he actually started this shit, you make sure you let him know he's at fault and that you will not tolerate this. If that doesn't get through, freeze him out of your circle (you ARE the alpha aren't you?) and AMOG him whenever he tries to hang around.
