Post subject:  How to go to a bar alone?

Hi. I'm a young man who has always been shy and reserved. My dating life has not always been much.

I have always found bars to be crowded and loud, so being as shy as I am, I've never been a huge fan of bars. However, I really think it's important that I start going because I think it's one of the only ways to meet women now.

I went to one last week and all I did was sit alone at the bar. I didn't really do anything. I just sat there.

I know that practice makes perfect, but does anyone have any tips for making it easier to be at a bar alone, or meeting women in general?

I have been doing this for a couple of weeks now. I am in college and finals are coming up so my mind has been somewhere else. I find it useful to get to bars around 11ish. Try to being conversation with any group between 2-3 girls. It helps if there is a guy there too help you break some of the tension if the girls are intimidating to you. I try to get there early because the later you go girls are taken or too drunk and sloppy. If you are really nervous it helps me to take a few shots of tequila before I start talking to them. Usually I take a shot or two and I am ready to begin the night. Hope that helps, I am in Austin, Texas if you are ever around send me a message.

That girl sitting in the park bored out of her mind wouldn't mind a little chat (and maybe more) too ya know
