Ok, I'm new here, been lurking for a while though.

Anyway...here's the question:

When a girl you met a week or two ago says hi to you, how do you respond?

Do you say, "hey, generic name, i remember you from blah event."

or

Do you say, "Hey, I'm sorry but do I know you? I'm really bad with names."



For me, I've tried both and they're both whatever. However, the first one makes me sound like an AFC. The times I've used the second one, the girls seemed really offended. What would you guys do?

No, don't say you're bad with names.

If she says she gives you her name,
and she comes up to you a second
time, switch out her name with another.

For example, if her name is Lisa, just
say: "Hey...Jenn, was it?"

She'll just say: "uh no, lisa..."

you: "Oh, right! I just met a girl last night
named Jenn. You guys look alike, I
sort of mixed the two of you."

This should be done in A2, and MAYBE A3.

Definitely NOT in C phases.

Don't say you met another girl last night. Just make a face like you're just realising your mistake and then you say, "Oh god! You just look exactly like this other girl!"

I personally just hold up my hands and make a face like I'm trying to remember their name and they usually tell you their name. At which point you can say, "Of course! [insert name] how's it going? You look.....well...lets not talk about that. :wink: "

might be considered an insult.

for a set that approached you :).

Yeah another good way is to introduce her to your friends that way she can announce her name.
Or just tell her straight out I forgot your name,sorry It's been a long week and I am always busy. :wink:

Do, what Dr.Cox on Scrubs does, spit out random names.

She will try to correct it, get closer to the name she has, say it wrong but more playfully :P

If you just say it straight, then its a major insult, but if you've already established that you're a cocky sarcastic bastard and she likes it, then it works well with a big shit eating grin after. It lets her know that you do think she's attractive, but that you're just busting her balls. I say a lot of stuff like that and just make sure to give her a smile and an appreciative look or touch and she knows I'm just making fun of her and usually punches me or body checks me.
