Post subject:  help me... please.
theres a girl in my stats class and I sit with her every time we have class. Ive been on my game, cocky funny, and I can tell that we have some connection. so long story short, we have a test coming up so i asked her to study. this is her response:

"hey,

well i wasn't really going to study for it cuz i have a Chinese quiz i need to study for... and why do you need me anyway? you were the one helping me the other day! U will probably do better than me and i will never live it down lol...

anyways, see you tomorrow. good luck on the test stat buddy."


any suggestions?

Ohh, boy . . . . LJBF . . . stat buddy.

I would say the most powerful, effective took you have with her at this moment is the jealousy factor, IF that would even do it.

edit: Actually, I do see ONE positive thing in that response. She at least says she would never live it down, which COULD be taken as in she percieves herself as lower value than you at this point. But I doubt she meant it that way.

I do some kino, but we're in stats class, so i can't really be making that drastic of moves. i bump her arm when shes writing and stuff like that.
I think the whole stat buddy comes from the fact that we make fun of this overly obnoxious girl in our class. So I know that there is rapport. I'm just going to turn it up a little bit try for some more kino.

L.A., I did sense that she DLV'd a little bit. Thats like the first thing I got from the message and it just really confused me.

I appreciate all of your help. I'll let you know how it goes.

I'm just curious...

How does making fun of an "overly obnoxious girl" mean you've built rapport?

And,

Can you describe what your daily interactions with her are like? How you plan to create attraction? Kino shouldn't be your only focus.

JasonD, Its a connection. We joke and laugh about it when she makes stupid comments and it gives us something to talk about.
I have class with her tuesdays and thursdays and so if shes writing notes id bump her and tease her, during class id toss out a playful neg and she would laugh. its a good situation, because I know 2 beautiful girls in the class, who sit behind us. so to begin with they are giving me social proof, and I throw my negs, and tell stories with those sexy little DHV spikes in there. because I see her tuesdays and thursdays i'm trying a new approach and taking it much slower.

I think you gave up a bit too quick. I'm sure she would have enjoyed coming to study, and letting an easy excuse like "I need to study for my chinese test" stop you is not very manly. The guy above who wrote "oh man I thought studying was still code for make out" is right, that's probly the best way to handle that, but I disagree that it should be a text/e-mail thing, it's actually not gunna work in that situation, IMO that's only a real life thing. Just tell her "Oh this isn't for me, you're coming over so I can teach you." In reality you didn't give her reason enough to come, she'd seem like a needy slut if she just JUMPED at your meek offer to come over and study, that was the perfect chance to even build more comfort and say "oh well really I just want to hang out with you, but I'm so shy I need to hide it behind the premise of studying ;)," flattery works if it's a slow thing like you're saying it is. Good luck =P

I agree with midnight. You shouldn't give up yet. Yes, I think as of now you are headed toward LJBF, but you should give it another shot anyway.

She just needed some proper joking around and enough of a reason that she had and excuse to study with you. If she doesn't have a real reason, then its awkward, but give her enough of one and she probably would have been over there and in easy position to run game on out of class. I would have replied with something like, "Sure, I may not need YOUR help, but I've taken to helping the less fortunate as making the world a better place and figured I'd start by helping you pass :wink: "
