| Post subject: | Scipio's Synopsis: Overcoming AA and failure at any stage |
In the process of achieving a goal or learning a new skill, failure occurs sometimes and it is met with a massive feeling of low emotion, which I call the “low point.” What happens is when you are progressing, you are invariably learning what is a new skill set. When you are in that process, you hold an ideal image of the goal consistently in your mind. When you experience failure, it is incongruent to the ideal image you are holding , and then, you experience the “low point”. What most people don’t actually realize is this; the MOMENT OF FAILURE IS the actual moment you have progressed. The fact you hold an ideal image in your head, means, you have learned a skill set and are ready to put it into practice. The fact you are applying the skill set and experiencing failure means you are several steps ahead of where you were at the beginning. When you are experiencing Approach Anxiety, it is because the ideal image you are holding in your head is wrestling with the fear of rejection and what can go wrong. This conflict is what causes all the built up emotion inside which usually leads to failure, awkwardness or even just quitting. What guys don’t realize when the set has gone wrong, is THIS is where the progress has took place. THIS is where you have taken the steps to becoming the ideal self that you believe you are. What if you crash and burn from the very start? The image of your ideal self has propelled you into action, which has taken you steps closer to the ideal you. In the moments of failure, it is HERE you evaluate where you went wrong and realize you have learned MORE of the skill which has taken you CLOSER to it’s execution. Which in actuality puts you several steps ahead of where you were at the start. The low point of failure you reflect on is the TRANSITION that leads you to the learning of a skill or to the achievement of your goal. Many people through the marketing of products, believe when they read the material they have, they have bought the magic formula which is going to get them any girl they want INSTANTLY. That is why approach anxiety and failure hit many so hard. They believe after buying this product all their troubles will be answered and all they have to do is go out, use it, and women will fall at their feet. When the opposite reaction occurs, many people end up quitting from their “low point,” when in actuality they are in the realms of achievement. In actuality, what it means is; you are CLOSER to your goal than what you know and are now ready to move forward to the image of the ideal self you believe you are. Therefore embrace failure in ANY set and at ANY stage of your game. Failure isn’t the end, nor the beginning. It is the transition period that takes you a step closer to your goal. Think about it and use it Scipio’s Synopsis Post a reply and let me know if this helps you in AA or any stage of your game or goal Or e-mail me at fpusaodonnell@yahoo.co.uk Believe Scipio |
