Guys, so I have a first date tonight. Do I continue with the negging or do I start acting like a sweet guy? I'm really a nice person, I just don't want to let the fish off the hook. Any suggestions????

You are going to want to do both. Show her you are a good guy, but girls like to be teased like a little sister. She won't respect a guy that kisses her ass all day long... so keep her in check with negs.

Hey thanks for the advice. I'll keep her in check with some swift negs, but also show her my respecful side. You commented on teasing her like a little sister. Being that I don't have any little sisters, can you spot me an example?

Here's some things from Hitch the movie to think about:

She's agreed to a date so she must like you! So you've got past the first hurdle, so try to relax and have a good chat.

She wants to get to know you a little - but don't tell her everything! Tell her some personal stuff that suggests you're an ambitious guy going places.

Don't totally change how you was when you first picked her up. I've done this and its a mistake. Still tease her, but do it less often and more subtley.

Don't come accross as needy but be interested. Get kino going early - keep it gentle!

Be confident! Realize there's many more fish in the sea if this don't work out. Above all, have a fun time, this is why she wants to date you because you probably came accross as a cheeky, fun guy!

Absolutely! But timing is everything - I'd be interested, then be elusive (two steps forward, then one back), then go in for the kiss close.

Handle the sh*t tests - just ignore them or her neg her so she realizes you won't put up with any crap.

2 steps forward 1 step back is gold... keeps them guessing plus keeps them on their toes.. never let them get comfortable and keep her on the edge and she'll love it!

Kiss close.. but when you do that tease her a bit too.. go in for a kiss and pull back when she gets close.. look at her, smile, and then kiss her.. BELIEVE ME ON THAT ONE!!! lol

Me personally, I'm not sure about the kissing on the cheek. Most of the girls I know routinely kiss and get kissed on the cheek, which has the effect of normalizing a relationship, rather than increasing the kinesthetic tension. Is a kiss on the cheek really stage one of the process towards getting a kiss on the lips? Personally I don't find so. If you have to kiss make it brief, but don't let a pent-up desire for touching be released in ritualised non-erotic cheek kissing. Next she'll be hugging, squeezing, and saying she 'missed you'. and what a great friend you are...Sorry, maybe this is just my world (See: 'Just Good Friends').
