Post subject:  Videoing pickup?

So I scammed a decent camcorder (JVC MG330), and went into town to do some day game today with my AFC friend who's in the know (my two wings were busy).

Ran a few sets with 6's, then finally found an 8. She is wearing a skirt and tights, which I got a thing for. She is also a salesperson. So am I; it's a match made in heaven.

My method for sarging retail workers is in short, to hit personal conversation threads as quickly and effectively as possible. My mate was videoing, and got caught/called out by another sales assistant!! I didn't realise what was going on because I was really into the set, so there I was flailing my hands at him (because it was going really well and I was about to #close) on the odd moments the HB8 looked away, telling him to video me, whilst the other sales assistant who caught him was watching. Haha.

I'm videoing some NLP-based pickups...can you communicate any tips to me on videoing, or do you just have to be covert about it? I mean the camcorder isn't huge, but you can't really hide it...

I've done some in-field videos, and experimented with this. You pretty much have to get someone to follow you with a camera. This you pretty well know. It's very difficult to do it yourself.

I've used my camera and a hidden camera rig as well. The hidden cam obviously works out better. The other is tougher especially during day game because people are going to notice what's going on, and start to ask questions. At night game you don't have that happen as much. Still people standing around tend to start to notice things after some time, you just have to be ready for those questions.

The only advice I can give you is setup your rig the best you can to draw as little attention as possible. Place it in a bag, backpack, man purse, or on your person if possible. Have the camera guy stand at angle to you and not directly at you in order to not draw too much attention. Have them move around. So it doesn't draw as much attention.

When possible set the camera down. One I had in a man purse type of hand back we'd sit it down somewhere so it'd get you a better more stable shot. For example the guys would sit it down somewhere in a store to get the shot, while looking at the merchandise.

The pro's use multiple cameras and splice the films together to not draw as much attention. With one camera that's pretty much impossible.

Hope it helps some man.

Cheers bud =)

I think the hidden camera rig is a great idea. I'll try that. I chose day/streetgame because it's harder to escalate and the NLP will be more clear, less affected by alcohol etc etc.

Looking back on the videos my mate seemed to spend a lot of time taking close-ups of girls' chest regions. I think that could also have been a confounding variable :P

Thanks again.

Hey dude, I've been looking into this for a while (naturally). Apart from the fact I work in an electricals store and specialise in cameras, I think I can help you here.

You can either video using a camcorder or a compact digital camera (usually for photos) that has a video function (almost all of them do these days).

The latter is poor quality but much easier to hide. AFC Adam often uses this in his front blazer pocket with just the top bit sticking out so the lens can video.

A more accurate and quality solution (though not as portable and covert) is an actual camcorder, wich is what I am doing.

There are 4 types of camcorders:

1. DVD
2. MiniDV
3. Hard drive
4. SD/memory card.

The first is too big, the second is outdated (tapes), the last is shit because memory is so low, so yeah, go for hard drive, they are new and easily the best in every way (except perhaps weight, but it's no big difference).

You can also get REALLY SMALL portable camcorders or even 'spycams'. These are great but quality is shite.

As for a microphone, my wing suggested that, haven't tried or looked into it, but if you are using a camcorder I don't think you need to; from my field-testing so far IN DAY GAME (night game will be more noise etc), the camera's mic seems to work fine. This includes sarging on the street, stores and restaurants/eateries.

I think a mic may be a good idea. Might look into it sometime but it's getting long haha.

I videoed some more day game today by myself, better results. I did these by planting the camera on a shelf or table then going for the approach (following JSmooth's advice). Some of them the angle was a bit off but I think this will come from practice. Overall this worked well.

I have been using the "button" type camera spycams. You can add this to a bag and leave it sitting while you approach. It already has a wide angle lens so there is no problem there. It's going to be hard for anyone to "view" while taping you, and no one notice.

You can always attach that to your shirt itself if you wanted, but then you don't get to see the interaction as well. It's really tough doing it yourself!

try this link

here are some great (although a bit pricy) covert cameras, you could always get you wing to wear one so you can view your body language and hers... but do you really want to spend that much on a camera???? i suppose its about how much you want to improve????

^Now that, is an excellent suggestion. Mad props.

I paid the same amount for my present camcorder, for which I bought mainly for PU, whilst containing my critical faculty by false-rationalising that I would use it for other purposeful purposes, which turned out so far to be videoing my mate and I partaking in daredevil sliding stunts across the vast canyons of very small patches of ice on domestic pavements.

So in short, I'm committed enough to spend that amount on improving my game. In time I may replace (I bought accidental damage cover which translates to smashing the camcorder on purpose to obtain a brand new one) my current one for the stuff in that link. But I do worry I won't be able to film my daredevil exploits.

take a close look at what you buy and some are even designed to be attached to different loctions on your body, thus giving you a first person view of your mad stunts :-)

Hire people to play the roles. That is what the gurus all do. Don't believe everything that you see or read.

BTW, a girl who works in retail dreams about a guy who has a new luxury car, plenty of money to spend on her, and is straight (or who can at least pretend to be straight). It definitely isn't a boy who also works retail  . That I can promise you.
