Post subject:  The Broken Nose Neg

This one was a bit of an accident, I didn't know it would work this well, but it worked out pretty good... Basically just act surprised/amazed that she broke her nose when she was a kid, it's cute, how did it happen, were you OK etc.

Even if she never broke her nose - especially if she never broke her nose - this either negs the girl, but in a friendly almost encouraging way, or it really gives you something to talk about (if that's the spin she puts on it) and she'll think your observant, sweet, whatever. Or maybe an arsehole but that's life, you can't win them all :P

What do people think?

This actually sounds like it could be a good neg. Many people have big insecuirities about themselves and broken noses are one of them. You could get away with this easy, its not like you're saying 'have you ever thought about dieting' or 'your teeth are crocked', they're less likely to be offended by talk about their nose and the neg has the desired effect.
But how would you actually word it?
What did the conversation go like?

Yeah, fair question. The conversation went something like:

Me: "Oh you're from Romania what's that like"
Her: "blah blah blah blah"
*interrupt her here*
Me: "Oh wow, did you break your nose when you were a kid or something..."
*reach out to touch nose lightly*
Me: "... it's really cute. What happened?"
Her: "No, does it look like I did"
Me: "Yeah, it just has this little spot here, it's really cute. Maybe it happened before you were even born."

I screwed up from there though by supplicating too much but the neg itself worked pretty well. I haven't really used negs much, I tend to be too nice, so I'm still finding my feet with them.

that's not a neg, which is why it's beautiful, and why it worked.

you pointed out something that she would potentially be very insecure about but appreciated her for it's uniqueness, and that tells her that you like something unique about her, which is way more alpha than any neg could ever be.

i love girls with busted noses, and i have no idea why. always have. my girl broke her nose 5 years ago, and it's the hottest thing ever. to each his own, eh? :)

Yeah thats good. Your right its not a negative comment, but more of a question about something she may feel negative about.
Then showing you dont think its a bad thing, but a positive one, this could work for whole range of things.
Good stuff man.

So what else? This one was a genuine one, I thought it was really cute and just rolled with it when she reacted the way she did.

It couldn't be about anything sexual ("oh, I like your breasts"). Probably random things are better. Things like her ears, not her hands but just her knuckles, I forget the proper name for it but that hollow bit in your throat, about where a guy's adam's apple is (that might be way too much of a neg, depending on how you said it - "oh wow, you've got an adam's apple". Then again you could talk about how we all have one and it's just more obvious on guys, ask her if she sings a lot or something like that. Right now I'm making stuff up.). You could even say she look like she's really strong (but that sounds a bit supplicating) and get her to show you her biceps. Sorry these aren't very structured, just random ideas.

What else? It does'nt have to be physical.
Maybe her occupation (or lack of one) the car she drives, her height.
I never gave it much thought, but the part about spinning it around so you see the positive in it seems like a great idea to me.

Yeah, the advantage of physical is that it gives you easy kino, but you're right, it could be anything... Although I guess it has to be something she's embarrassed about, else it'll sound supplicating. If you find out she's not embarrassed I think you'd just have to bail on it and move on from it in the conversation like you never mentioned it.

This opens up a whole new world for me... Maybe you could go up to a girl and help her to her seat or whatever.

"There you go, now rest that ankle."

"What?"

"Yeah, I know how it feels, i twisted my ankle last summer while I was rockclimbing, pretty tough of you to go clubbing despite everything."

And take it from there... You were just trying to be helpful... Does she look like she is limping when she's walking or what, does she not move with the female grace?

Wonderful

I don't think it's wrong - I had a really good chat with a girl last night about cricket, because it turned out she did break her nose (got hit by a cricket bat) and so we just swapped war stories...

Coming from someone that did break there nose, I would find it offensive and strange that someone is willing to stare at my nose long enough to pinpoint a little indent on my nose.

So far no one else seems to, not even the girls who haven't broken their nose... But to each their own :)
