so I wanna talk to you guys about moving our convictions to other aspects of life we puas already commited ourselves into taking control of our lifes and be the best, at least with women... but to keep our good state we're gonna also need to fullfil some other needs, like professional life obviously what methods you guys know, use or can think of to get on with studying FOR REAL, keeping the focus on our objectives, networking, jobhunting, being the go-to professional, being the kind of professional that the marchet actually seeks instead of you seeking jobs!? cmon guys, lets make this shit even bigger!! Im really in this moment of my life, now, Im like a recovering druggy/lazy-ass and now is the time that I fucking need a bump on this what Im thinking of doing now is write in papers my goals for five years and also for the next year, then stick it on the walls of my room so I never forget it one thing I really need is focus more on studying, but I have a hard time keeping into it, like, stoping to get something to eat, check my msn, orkut...what sucks is that once you lost the drive to keep studying is really hard to focus on it again to fix that in thinking of separating some time to study in the library, but Im afraid already it may gets hard to keep motivated to do so well, thats just the first things I could come up with, I think it'd be a nice idea if we help each other on this subject too! |

Well I'm twenty now and I know exactly what your saying. I've done a lot since reaching "adulthood" (wrote a book at 18, dropped out of college, joined the military, etc...). Within the next 5 years, I'll definitely be overseas (stationed in Naples, Italy) and hopfully in late 2012 obtain a BA in Women Studies at San Diego State University. Above all, I am still looking for that particular "breakthrough" in reaching self-actualization. |

There's a process I'd love to share with you guys and it's simple . . . but also difficult to convey on a forum. Don't start of with goals. Begin with Dreams. The equivalent of "dreams" in the corporate environment would be their "Mission Statement." This is what will drive everything else. Sit down quietly and free-write it. No hinderances on your academic background, where you are now or anything else. Don't put any limitations on yourself. Just write it . . . Then you figure out where you are now, your strengths, weaknesses, your assets, etc . . . then you write down your goals. How will you achieve your dreams? . . . You'll achieve them by reaching set, identifiable goals. Then how do achieve your goals? You achieve them by strategizing and creating executable tasks with a budget and time frame. Think abut this for a minute. If you're PUA (an effective one) then you'll realize that this is what you do already in terms of Pick Up. This is a strategic method that is followed by the most efficient and effective individuals as well as the best working groups in the World. Add the "social dynamics" aspect of effective PUA artists and really, some of you could be running the biggest "shows" out there. PM me if you want me to take you through the steps. So logical and yet, I've actually met executives of the highest order who didn't have a clue how to strategize a plan. Obviously . . . they weren't PUA's! |

Inner game... To know this shit will improve any situation where you have social interactions. Interviews, sales etc etc. I have improved vastly after learning about the game. Just keep working your bodylanguage and the realization that you are the most important person in your world. |

Just to add to what Kasabi wrote do some solid goal setting. Once you have your dream work break it down into some smaller sections, for instance money involved, connections, creative output etc. Break each of these down again into smaller goals, methods for getting money, where to search for advice, and so on. Keep breaking goals down until you have a large number of goals that are so small you can tick them off every day without effort. Take care of the smallest component and the larger ones will take care of themselves. Students do this all the time with study, saying they want to get 100% in an exam is one thing but structuring their study to achieve it in the most efficient way is another. A great book for this sort of thing is Edward DeBono's 'Six Thinking Hats'. He is the man that invented lateral thinking and his methods of structured creativity are immensely useful in all ares of life. |
